In the front of each inner fender on both sides are oil coolers - look forward of each front tire to see the grills. The right side on my MR is larger (the oil cooler in front of the plastic grill) and that's for the engine. The cooler on the left front inner fender, forward of the wheel/tire, is for the auto gearbox.

That grill area beside/inside the fog lamps is the air intake for the coolers.

Pics are engine cooler first (on right side of car); gearbox cooler next (on left side).

Someone with a GSR look to see if the left side is empty??

Can I buy the engine oil cooler and use it to replace the gearbox cooler? Is the mounting same? what is the part#?

They're not the same size and use different hose fittings: the shop manual shows the engine cooler using banjo bolts while the gearbox cooler uses slip-on hoses and clamps.

Are you having gearbox overtemp issues?

ARC makes one. I might pick it up.

After a few times driving hard, full throttle on the highway, there is some stutter, like speed limiter on 5000rpm onwards.
I experience this after tuning with Unichip piggyback.
Is it because the piggyback? Should I remove the piggyback and bring to the dealer to get a factory reflash newest software?
I plan to use mail in flash like from Works, or any other suggestion?

Why do you want to change the oil cooler on the MR? Are you taking the car to the track? If not the OEMs are more than adequate.:rock:
