pple usually just get red tape and cut it out to make the diamond badges :) i saw it a couple of times at MOD...

Actually, it looks good! I don't mind the Manufacturer labels, though I would never do it myself. Provided, of course, that you actually have those parts on your car. That's something I don't like... random stickers without the part to back it up.

What a dumb thing to say. You guys prob know the story about the 08 Lancer paint issues and the paint chipping really bad. yea thats why I have the large graphics on the side of the car. Did I want it, not really but its better than looking at chipped paint. The AM stickers fill in the voids. If I had an evo it would be just as modified

If I did not have the rock chips, I would have not one the vinyl. Since I have the rock chips, then I decided to get something on my car I liked. So, I do like what I chose. The hood had to go back to Accolade bc it was damanged.

I spent alot, but for me to buy a Evo at the age of 21, is crazy. The insurance is way to much, and I really wanted 1, but had to bite the bullet for now

in the same class as the 08 evo gsr/mr? youl find in a lot of companies they are. your odd of finding the dif between the two are less than the probability of the same quote for the dif models. im not sure how well you looked into it maybe then.. :s

Not a bad car. Take care of a few things and it would be perfect for my taste. Im not a big fan of chrome so the front grill and chrome fuel door would have to go. Normally I dont like graphics on a car but it looks good on yours. I would just lose all the company logos. Those are only for nascar and ricers. The wheels look good. I like how the little silver rivets or whatever those are match the graphic. Im not sure but I would consider coloring the red mitsu symbol gray or silver to match the whole theme.

Personally, I don't think the graphic looks that bad. If you block out the brand name decals it works. BUT i noticed that you have mud flaps so the rock chip thing probably shouldn't matter. Also, I have a lot of respect for modding up the lower end model of a certain vehicle. Coming from a self-turbo'd Eclipse RS, I know how much harder you have to work to make that car bad ass. And it's easy to see you've done that. I'd like to see more non-evo activity in the forum like this. Nice work man. Interior/gauge shots would be cool.

WOW your wrong lol, its considered a family sedan... i had an Evo 8 which my car insurance sky rocketed, once i switched to the GTS it was like half that or even more...

I honestly dont think this looks bad at all compared to other crap i've seen like Silver w/ Lime Green or pink wheels omg... Plus i never digged the STI's blue and gold rims combo... but its all opinion anyways

I am with the lower insurance. And I like what you have done with you non turbo'd lancer and think maybe you should do an after market one like RRM has.
RRM even has a turbo now for CVT Lancers. I am considering it myself. If I do it, I am not doing it to race, I am doing it for me.
I hear so much give it up, buy an evo. Not everyone has that tall of a budget and not all want to buy car that has twice the insurance. But we do want the look. I get what can afford and if fortune affords me the ability to add some mods to my liking, awesome.
I for one like all the mods he has done and my hat's off to your efforts. Keep up the good work and hell, I might even borrow some of you ideas.


After I had a chat with an evo owner, they told me that evo insurance was quoted to them as cheaper. I will admit I am surprised I would have thought it the other way around.

The thing I could never grasp is not just buying a used Evo/WRX/whatever else, compared to a base model Lancer. ESPECIALLY if you're going to be doing any sort of harder-core mods, your warranty is shot anyways, so it's not like you're retaining the big "new car warranty" thing.

I mean, shit, a GTS CVT's base MSRP is 20k. 20k. 20. Thousand. Dollars. That would buy a pristine condition Evo 8 or 9 or STI. And if you get into talking about "adding a turbo to a CVT", well, your warranty is gone. Like, super gone.

That's the disconnect I don't fully grasp. But, hey, each to their own.
