I'm thinking of tinting my cars as well. The P5 isn't going dark at all because I don't really care for the look of that car with dark tint. The Civic, probably the same, just to keep it a little cooler inside.

Ohio is anal about it. 50% is their limit. My ex's Civic was tinted to 30% and it was nice as hell. Looked good. Dark tint on a silver P5 just doesn't work that well IMO. The Civic is going to be more of a track car / sleeper on the street, so I'm not trying to draw much attention to it. It's dark Green (obviously)

Not really but in CO they dont bug you for it. One time I got pulled over cuz they couldn't see the temp tag( I had 5% at the time). All they said was they just wanted to make sure I had one and then I went on my way LOL.

I think tints make a car soo much better. My old car was white with 5% all around. Never got pulled over. Since I plan to get pearl black I dont know if ill go that dark. I think the whole blacked out look is old. Probably will go 15% so some kind of light shines through.

I think tint is a must, to cut down on sunlight into the car, protect the seats, etc., to limit what people can see by casually glancing into your car, and to look cool. Unfortunately, in BC we cannot have any tint on the front side windows. I will definitely do my car's back side and back windows.

I don't think I would do the strip on the windshield, maybe, maybe not. What do you guys think about that?

Get the sun strip. It really helps out. I drive in rush hour everyday. When the sun is coming up and when its going down. It really helps kill the sun glare.

honestly I think cars without tint look cheap IMO, but that might be just cause the only cars in Arizona without tint are cheap..

Minnesota is 50% all around..cant stand it. Im a big fan of 35 and thats all i've ever had, but heading back to MN soon so going with 50. Anyone know if 50% is even noticable?

Premium tint adds a bit of reflectivity so you can get a higher % but it's still hard to see through. This is 38%. Eghhh, I hate my neighbors...

I got mine tinted 35% all around with gunmetal metalized tint. I like it, but it's a big change from 5% that I've had on every other vehicle I've owned. For a pic reference, it looks just like iconzx6r's in the post above this.

I had mine tinted at 30% and got pulled over for being illegal. Instead of fighting it which I could have I had it removed and got my front end covered in clear bra. Now I'm going to find a good eye doctor and see if I can get a medical waiver for 35% since they do that in PA.

just something legal. not being baked by the suns rays makes it worth it. tinting is almost a necessity on cars. just not the shitty do it yourself stuff.

I had an Audi 4000 CS Quattro with dark tint [lived in FL] and drove to maryland...motorcycle cop puleld me over in the valet lane at my hotel telling me it was illegal, and that I had to comply with his state's laws when I was there [which I have to believe is bs]...so after hasseling me for about 10 minutes he gave me a warning and told me to just throw it away when he left! I think the surfboard on top got his attention and then the tint made him want to have some fun...

Has anyone tried the Solar gard ultra performance tints? I was reading this months modified mag,Fed '10, and they did a test with the 75% tint on how much it decreased inside temps. Temps went down 5-15 F, not a lot but it was only 75%, they went for the 75% because it was less likely to get noticed by cops.
If anyone has any review on this it might be the tint I will look into, probably 75% front and 40% back. From the pics 75% looks almost like no tint which is good, in NH no front tint allowed and 35% in back.

That 6" means you can put a tint on the windshield extending 6" from the top edge of the windshield. The F side and B side are Front/Back side windows and rear is the back window.

This is perfect for me. 20% all way around.

im looking at getting 35% all around even tho Va law is 50 in front and 35 in back.alot of ppl tell me most cops wont even notice but i want it all one shade all around

+1 yeah stay with the % all way around. Looks better I think. Not worth trying get a darker % and then getting tickets for it.

cops dont take tint much seriously i think its worth it have 35% on the front and like 0 the rest cause 35 they most likely wont pull you over for and even if u get a ticket its usually a fix it ticket which is 50$ and ur chance in getting pulled over again is slim unless its the same guy

Out here they don't really care about tints unless your an ass to them. I have had 20% since i was driving. Its dark enough so no one can see and its light enough so i can see out.

BUT, what if you're knocked unconscious in an accident and the fuel tank is leaking...(fire hazard). Wouldnt it be better if rescuers could actually break the safety glass to get you out? I'd rather not have that film.

Cops around my area are anal about tint. I had tint on my G35 and I got a fix it ticket for the front ones a couple days after I had them tinted.

just got mine done yesterday i got them the maryland legal limit which is 35% but it honestly looks alot darker due to the black interior. can make the cars appearance a little more aggresive i think

What they didn't tell ya that blunt objects don't break tempered glass as easy as a sharper object.

Tinting is always the way to go.

the place i went had them number 1 though 5, 5 being the darkest. i got 5 in back and 3 on driver and passenger. lol looks really good. ill post pics in a few days in evo x vanity

Anyone else have a problem where their tint job got scratched by rolling down the windows?!?

I just bought an 09 GTS over the weekend and when I got it I noticed the tint job was all screwed up because the molding was scratching the tint. I talked to their tint guy at the dealership and he said it happens a lot with the 09 because the rubber part that sits on the window it more solid than other models. I find it hard to believe since I have had several cars that were harder than what the lancer has and have never had a screwed up tin job.

I'm planning on having it redone very soon, but was wondering if anyone else had this same issue? I was told I should get a felt mold kit which makes it less likely to mess up the tint job.

I tinted my RA 30 in front, 20 in rear and it looks great. I have had a cop tell me it is illegal before but have yet to get a ticket.

I hate getting pulled over for that shit it irritates me so I dont tint my cars anymore

i tinted mine 20 in the back 30 in the front as well, haven't had any problems from the cops(knock on wood), i've got the windows in my celica tinted 20 for about 6 years no problems there either. i will say it's a bitch to back out of my driveway at night though with 20.

You can not clearly see into the back seat w/out putting your nose on the glass TBH. I have had the same tint on my VW for almost 8 years and not a single scratch. 4mo's on the Evo and no scratches yet from the lack of trying. I do not have felted window guides.

I would say that this is the best stuff out there. Woulda gone darker but I am trying to stay legal.

I have limo all the way around & 35% windshield but truthfully if your not worried about getting pulled over for it & can deal with having a hard time backing up in low lights I say go for it

i got 20% and wish it was darker at times. goto to your eye doctor and have them fill out a form from DMV for sunshading. it allows you to have darker tint without getting a ticket

I have my tint at 7% right now and never been pulled over. It's all luck.

8000k till i get mu 3000k... it came with the kit i wanted... hks bov isnt on the car and will be gone soon... hood damper were a gift and i bought the lip at 280.. it was a good deal so i hoped on it.. not to metion this is my daily.. my two other cars would my your evo look like a Neon.. just saying..
