This is on my "need to buy" list. But this is also one of the more expensive parts to have installed, so.....I have to wait.

Provides better flow over the restrictive stock o2 housing.
Faster spool up, less boost creep

Sucks that I recently bought the regular downpipe they have. Is there a bigger benefit with this in power and response to make it worth losing some money on my old one and buying this one?

Already bought it, it'll be here friday. I can't wait, lol. The summer up here in AK is ending soon and there's only two more track days left. Trying to hit that 11.99 @ whatever mph. :godance:

From what xtremeboost said in one thread that there is a huge increase in power from replacing the housing/dp combo. Maybe he can chime in to confirm..it looks sexy tho

Deff looks good, I know there is deff more info to be said about the benefit with this one over the regular one and I will decide from that. Since the UR site shows only about a 2hp gain with this one over the regular DP but maybe there is a lot more gain to be had with a tune.

^^I was wondering about the gains too. I recently bought the UR downpipe and it seems $200 extra for the O2 housing seems a little bit for 2 awhp and 3 awtq. Don;t take this the wrong way UR products are top notch and I have two of them waiting to be installed on my car and I know it is $350 because it is the first on the market and the work it takes to make it is alot more than a simple DP.

So I am basicall saying 10 awhp for $150 or 12 awhp for $350 seems like a no brainer. or I could just be hating because if I would have waited a week I could have ordered this.

Well that is how I feel also as to buying the o2 housing DP. Which is why maybe there is more gain from the new DP when getting tuned. If that is the case then I would rather have a part that will gain more power when tuned. Meaning if this one is only 2whp more gain just bolted on but when tuned it gains lets say 10whp more then the regular DP then I rather have this. I guess with a bit of time there will be a lot of people and shops that can compare and let us know the benefits of this one over the other.

You are probably right and it would be the smarter choice to get the combo, I'm sure when you start putting all the parts on the car and tuning one restrictive part such as the O2 housing will problem need to be addressed. Like I said I'm just mad/hating because I should have waited a week.

It's a nice piece and will definitely make power out of tune as it removes the bottleneck of the stock system.
The only thing that I don't like about this design is the two separate holes (different diameter). The stock housing and AMS prototype have one large opening where it connects to the turbo.
I'm not sure if it will not affect the airflow.
Anyway, I will wait for the AMS O2 to come out to compare the two.

Hopefully, I don't get this thread locked for speaking here. I'm not advertising, just supporting.

To assist customers that originally purchased our standard Evo X 3" Downpipe, we are offering an exchange program so that you can upgrade to the new O2 Housing Downpipe and not be at a total loss. Contact me for details :)

THis looks pretty nice, but so does Franks and AMSs. I just ordered the Perrin Downpipe hopefully I will get good perfromance out of it. They are really the only company that has a regular downpipe that said they had any gains from it. I hope I wont be replacing it right away with something like this lol.

i am on the fence on getting the UR or the T1R

I went with the UR and had it coated. Couldn't be happier and works great with my FP Red. Fits perfectly by the way. I believe it is a little less than the T1R piece.

Yep gunmetal ceramic coating 2000 degree.

What is the point of getting the ceramic coating? Is it only for looks? or is there any benefit from that type of finishing vs not doing anything at all

It holds the heat inside the pipe better. Hotter exhaust = better flow.
