Just a question to anyone who's had mitsu's in the past...especially the older/more recent evo's.

what should i expect with regards to quality? i drove a lancer gts and the interior looked and felt cheap. Im currently driving an IS 300 and to be frank, it was the interior that sold me. Im big on the interior as well as performance. for ~35K+ i better get a bitchn' interior.

also, anyone know of any mitsu problems with regards to the evo's? electrical? turbo? quality of fitment with interior parts? etc... i'm just now beginning to do some research and will keep you guys posted if i come across anything worth posting.

thanks guys

Dzine07, the previous model Lancer Evolutions and the new Lancer Evolution X that is to be released share almost nothing in common. To compare one to the other is like comparing apples to oranges. Albiet both grown on the same Mitsubishi farm. =). Just to let you know, the Outlanders and Lancers are built on the same platform and the factories that produce them have a less than 3% defect rate, and while that might sound frightening to some people, that is lower than Honda, Nissan and Mazda. Food for thought.

I think the reason why people think the past evo were not reliable is because people mod the F out of them, especially true since the evo series is turbocharged and the engine can handle large amount of boost.

The Evo can handle a lot of boost, yes, but only if the foundation is properly fortified. A house is only as strong as it's foundation and I've witnessed countless blocks go to a graveyard due to improper fortification as well as bad tunes. And now... methanol.

I think I'm going to be let down by the X's interior. The interior on the GTS is made from the worst plastic I've ever seen.

Generally, the evos are well made. The MR 6MT tranny is known to be weak, but that's about it. The motors are solid, and the cars aren't known to have consistent issues.
