dudes im having a bird poo issue. A couple times I have had birds take a nice dump right on my car hood. I washed them off the same day and it still left a mark on my paint. I cant get these marks off, you can old see them in certain light but their are there for sure. There is no way i can watch my car that closely when i take it out, and there is no way 1/2 a day with bird shit should screw up my paint like this

I have a theory that the hood gets so hot that it bakes it on, anyone else have this problem or is it just me? my car is black.

advice for you is to get it professionally detailed or use clay bar, it'll get the remaining marks off.

next thing is to buy a car cover if you want to keep the paint fresh.

screw that im not covering my car everywhere i go. I garage it the rest of the time. i guess i can try the clay bar thing, never used one, are they abrasive? cause if they arent i doubt they will get these spots off.

i wanted it to work bad. it might have helped a bit, but it didnt get rid of it completely.

this is ridiculous. Anyone else have this problem? the hood on this car just seems to get so damn hot.

That is single layer paint for you with the thinnest clear coat paint I've ever seen. Clay bar removes the wax. You will need to seal and wax the area you clay bar. You will need to do an area like an entire panel, entire hood, or entire fender. Don't do just a small spot.

Mitsu is really cheap in the paint dept compared to other brands.

wow i guess the bird had some taco bell.

LMAO.

@gazebo - yes, the black hoods get ludicrously hot. Hot sun + hot engine + aluminum = burns to the touch. I've never seen anything like it.

Your "bake" idea is probably not far off.

In the meantime, try to wax the hell out of the thing.
