What: As per usual, we'll be meeting up at a parking lot and hanging out/talking cars for a bit. From there, we'll all get dinner somewhere (likely at a Hooters), followed by a Scavenger Hunt. I tend to make them pretty wild, so don't say I didn't warn you. Make sure you bring your digital camera.

Not including gas and tolls, I would suggest having a least $30 to spend on the meet. After all, unless Liquid_Ag's mom is around, a good time costs money. Speaking of good times that cost money, the infamous k-lea will be attending this meet. Here's your once in a lifetime chance to smell her in person!

Think of it from my perspective though. Meeting new people is incredibly awkward, I'm no longer on my medication that IMO makes me a tolerable person to be around, and I'm considering driving 12+ hours round trip to get dinner and then go to a club. At the club, where I won't be drinking or doing anything really (Rob can vouch for me there.. I really just followed him around silently during that scavenger hunt crap we did last time), I'll just be boiling with anxiety that'll probably shorten my lifespan. I'm not going to say it was a 'bad time' last time in Ocean City, MD but that's just not my thing. I'm not going to meet a girl I'd even be remotely interested in at a bar or club (or Hooters for that matter :P )

Plus really I should focus this weekend on getting my act together, getting all my homework assignments, papers, and lab reports out of the way, and studying for the finals I have the week after next.

If someone wants to bother to convince me to come, be my guest. I don't have any scheduled obligations this weekend so I can go.

I'm a person who has chronic panic attacks and I'm going to a city where I have no "escape" almost. Just take things in stride. You have to put yourself out there in order to overcome the things in life that slow you down. But it does help that Phen will be there because he is just so awesome and knows me inside and out.

I have this nasty problem where the deaf interpreters in class (there's like 2000 deaf students at my school so there are interpreters in every class) will actually try signing to me months into a class because they honestly had no idea I wasn't deaf.

I'll get over it some day but I feel a panic attack coming just thinking about it right now. Like I said, I'd deal with it if there was a car meet or somethin like that, as I did last time I made the drive down to the deep south (Maryland) and do whenever I go to car meets in Toronto. Def not worth it considering your distance. For $443 you'd have to drive an hour, show up 2 hours early, fly (an hour?) get baggage and crap (30 mins), and then I'd have to pick you up in philly (an hour away).

So you'd have paid $443 to have saved 1.5 hours of travel time.

PS - If you ever need to come here, check out ACY (atlantic city int'l) to see what kind of flight deals you can get. Sometimes they're cheaper or comparable, but generally not.

You've never experienced Blizzaks on dry land. They'd basically melt and I'd need new ones. I wait until there is snow on the roads when I need to make long drives with them on, totally serious. I'll just leave them in the back seat where they are now. It helps balance the car :)

Bluetooth GPS receiver with superior SIRFIII chipset, like $99 dollars. Then I can use my phone and free software (Windows Live Search or Google Maps ..both of which of course suck compared to a dedicated software solution but I don't think there are decent ones out for windows mobile smartphone). I'm not going to buy a dedicated GPS unit, I wouldn't leave something like that in my car all the time and for the couple times a year it would be useful I'll just stick to the phone.

I'm afraid though.. 13/15 Evo owners I've talked to really, really hate that I have an Evo vent on my hood. I always ask them, sorta out of respect. the car is comfy as hell to sleep in (I've slept in it more than I care to think about on any long drives.. f-ing falling asleep at the wheel and shit) but I'd have to shuffle the snow wheels/tires around to be able to recline the front passenger seat to do so. I'm 95% sure it can be done though

My car is stuck at the shop today. The rear spindles needed to be heated to loosen the bolts going through the lower control arms and the spindles. The bushings on the control arms got all messed up from that. I'm hoping my friend can get the new parts and have it fixed today.

I hate the front lower control arms a whole lot

I need a new driver's side one.. I think the non-replaceable bushing is the cause of the suspension noise that made me spend months tearing apart my front sway bar, as it's still present :(

I wanna see if I can make it on a full tank of gas. Gonna do ridiculous psi in the tires (under the max they 'support' but close to it) since they'll be out of my life in about a week when I put the snowies on.

yay morning. oh man 40+ psi is going to murder me, it's only 26F outside right now. Maybe switching to my narrower wheels/tires wouldn't hurt, but no.. I must not go to a car meet type deal lookin like a ricer with stock wheels and a CF hood :P

then again I have gone to middle of winter meets in Rochester.. it's not a pretty sight for anyones car

That was effing good times.

That meet rocked. So much fun to be had when we get the group together. What made my day was about an hour ago when the Sunlight Siver Trinity (plus one) totally ricer pwned the Ferrari 328 GTS just off of the AC expressway. That dude prolly had no idea what just happened to him.



And no, i'm not driving right now. Just stopped at a rest stop for a quick bite to eat.

- 2 x 12oz bottles of Red Bull (the 'big' red bull cans --sugar free, can't tolerate the taste otherwise). One still in NJ, the other when leaving Philly (I couldn't help but make a detour and stop in the city for like 30 mins)
- a quad shot of espresso somewhere near Scranton, PA
- another 12 oz bottle of Red Bull in Binghamton, NY
- a 16oz rockstar somewhere west of Syracuse, NY

I didn't fall asleep at the wheel! On my way down all I needed was 2 bottles of Bawls because I had plenty of sleep the night before :P

is that a problem? Don't let it be --obviously NONE of us drive the Evo X since it isn't out yet. You can't expect it to be a forum populated by people even with the same brand car because it's a very new forum. We mazda folk came in support of the people who started the site (Mazda Protege people) and a handful really are considering getting the Evo X.

I'm just here for moral support :P but my car has real Evo parts on it so that should be ok haha

p.s. where in NY? I'll assume not upstate since more than half of the population of the state is in NYC and it's suburbs.
