Floor mats are STANDARD? Wow, finally car companies have caught on! LOL.

Another feature I like:

Power windows with driver's one-touch up/downMy Protege only has one touch down, so it's a pain when I'm shifting through the gears accelerating out of a toll booth and trying to roll up my window. I wish all of them were up/down, but I guess I could just change out the switches.

Part of my problem is that I want the MR Technology package, but I want it with the MR Technology package.

Also, what you posted didn't show an option for the FAST key system on the GSR, but apparently, that will be available (http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=808).

the mr is already (supposedly) 40k from the start....the technology package would probably rape me up the ass. figure i would go ahead and install one of those pioneer touch screen systems...save a couple thousand.

I do want a sunroof though.

You can also get the NAV in the GSR.
Can you confirm, Badboy?

TriStateEvo
10-22-2007, 12:06 AM
The Accessory Navigation package in the GSR trim level is a port installed option, which means that when it comes into Baltimore/Tacoma, it will be installed by the Mitsubishi entry port technicians once it arrives. The Accessory Navigation Package is then printed on the 'Monroni Label' (didn't think the window sticker actually had a name, did you? LoL) and shipped to the dealership.

I guess I am looking at wanting an A11, but who knows what Canadian spec levels will be. I was only asked for transmission and colour choice. I wanted manual so got bumped from sixth to first on the list. What are the chances that the first car to show up is a base GSR or a GSR with SSS package?

There is still the problem of the 8km/h bumper test that all Evo's up to now have either not passed or not been tested. You will also recall the spec sheet posted for the GSR and MR which list length of the car at 1.9" longer, IIRC, for the Canadian versions of the Evo, which means they are somehow structurally different and as of now remain on the inadmissable list for Transport Canada.

Subaru STi is admissable and no one has yet told Subaru dealers in the US not to sell to Canadians, though Subaru Canada says they will not honour warranties on 2008 models.

If Mitsubishi plays their cards right and makes the prices the same in the US and Canada they will benefit. They do not have a long history in Canada with a lot of leases on the books (exchange rate is causing havoc on residual values and used car prices). They could be a leader in the expected price adjustments and could get a lot of boost from it in the Canadian market, and they need some help in our market.

Definitely, the way I see it, since it is the first EVO that is actually come to Canada, they wouldn't want to scare away potential customers with a high price tag, and they should build a solid foundation for their holy grail car, Evo X in our market. The name Lancer Evolution is not really well known in Canada, the general public would not know that this car offers great bang for bucks. Since the general public doesn't know much about the Evo, it is entering into the Canadian market with just great looks. If it is priced at 50k, which is the same price as the STi, I think customers would most likely look else where to drop their dough.

Hey Badboy, any updates on this information? I will not buy an Evo in the US, but I do want to know if Mitsu is partaking in unfair trade restrictions between the US and Canada. So far Subaru is letting sales from US dealers to Canadians happen, but warranties for cars sold in US are only covered by Subaru of America, work can be done and paid to Canadian dealers, then reimbursed by SoA.

No dice on this one.

Mitsubishi corporate states the following:

With the Canadian market having it's own sales division and corporate headquarters, selling a US market vehicle to a Canadian national would be infringing on franchise right of the Canadian dealers. We understand your zealousness in pursuing all avenues of sales, but the Canadian market is not to be actively recruited by US dealers. Any discovery of a sale by your dealership to a Canadian national will be removed from your RDRs and you will be penalized accordingly for the infraction.

In a nutshell: I don't think there will be any joy here.

Just a small note. Those codes only apply to the U.S. I believe. The Canadian ones for example started with a C. In Canada there are only three trim levels available. GSR, MR, MR Premium. I ordered an MR and the code was something like CK41 or CLK41 or something. I can't remember exactly. I have to pop in next Saturday so I'll try to remember to look again.

There's also an aero package, which I opted for when preordering mine at the dealership. I've seen pics in the Japanese brochure when it was leaked out on the net, but they don't show all angles of the car, just the front 3/4 view. The front looks bad ass, though. It's got a lip spoiler that runs along the bottom of the bumper and is fully painted, which I think gives the front a more finished look. My only question is that in the package it says that there's also a rear spoiler extension. What the hell is that? There's no pics of the rear end that I've been able to find that show what this "extension" looks like. Can anyone find any pics? I hope it doesn't make the rear spoiler huge. One of the things that attracted me to the car initially was the car having a smaller spoiler and more mature looks than the outgoing model. I don't want the car to end up looking too "boy racer."

For those who are really on car mods, i recommend that u guys take GSR (A11 GSR w/ Sight, Sound and Spoiler Package) or at least GSR (A00 Base)..otherwise u'll regret it later..because in opinion SST transmission (package) is just for those who are not mods freak and for happy driving..i guess =/

But the GSR can be fitted with some accesories that MR has right?

like the TC-SST, Bilstein-Eibach springs, foglamps, spoiler kits and much else...it maybe more affordable than MR with TC-SST

BTW, what is large type rear wing?

AFAIK, you cannot add SST to the GSR.

A12 MR. Technology Package...anything else..is just an EVO LOL

Seriously though I hate the exclusivity of the packages..You can have this but not this...well damn it what if I want both...you're screwing yourself out of money.

I'm glad to see they'll have the Tech pakcage similar to the GTS Lancer.

I just hope it isn't $2500 extra on what I already have to pay......

Gotcha thanks for the help, I was having a hard time determining what all the differences were, but I think I have it straight now.

Either way I will probabally go with whatever I can afford! I'm really hoping the prices do not top 40 grand.

A11, I really need a 5 spd again, I got an IS300 with the paddle shifters and it gets boring.
