were going to on friday :)

Can you post pics and a little review perhaps? I have the uber shitty metra kit that doesn't fit well at all, Id rather spend 59 extra bucks on a good fitting kit than fork out 180 bucks for that jdm kit. That would be nice :)

I'm told the fitment is much better than metra.

Dude they probably bought the kit in bulk for a good discount. Car audio stuff (at least here in the states) is marked up ridiculously high for the consumer. When I was an installer/sales guy at circuit city, some of my discounts on the head units were nearly 100 dollars off. They probably just got a good deal on the bulk buy! ;-)

Awsome, I'm ordering one up. Bye-bye metra.

Plus it appears to be more well shrouded, which helps.

Just got my Scosche dash kit this evening, and installed it immediately. It actually snaps into place (unlike the metra) and fits very well. I'm much happier with my Scosche!

Hey Dino, is the opening for the Scosche kit the exact size & contour as the Metra? I have a custom plexi piece made for my Metra kit that surrounds my single din deck & a portion of the plastic pocket underneath. I'm wondering if it'll transfer to the Scosche kit or not. Also, how's the color matching to the dash... is it darker/better than the Metra?

No, it's shaped quite differently.

It's better than the metra in every imaginable way.

Can you send me the link where you ordered it, I have the metra and I find that the fitment is not perfect.

What was the pricing?

How do you guys, w/the kit, feel about the overhang on the long plastic trim piece? Maybe the couple pics I saw didn't do it justice... I look forward to seeing your pics F/A18mech... Could you take some at diff angles?

Below, that sticks out over the faux CF pattern plastic piece.

I don't recall it sticking out down there.

hmm, I saw a pic on a lancer site of the kit & there was an overhang there. The site is coincidentally down right now, so I'll see if I can post a pic later.

Here are a couple of pictures..one kinda head on the other at a different angle to highlight the so-called overhang.

As you can see it sits flush, no crappy gaps, or warping. And as for the 2-DIN opening, it sits much tighter around the unit itself making for a cleaner look than the metra.

this is the overhang I was talking about... how the kit extends over the trim piece.

I know, I just don't think the overhang is as bad as some people make it out to be ;-)

Ok, i just checked the overhang you're talking about in my car, and it works well...doesn't look awkward.

Honestly, you barely even notice it since you're looking down at it (not up at it like the pic shows).

No problem..oh and the overhang sticks out no more than half an inch at most...sitting in the car, it looks completely natural and factory to me.

^good to know, the pics make it look a lot larger.

I know this is an old thread but just a quick question....Can you get to the back of the glove box through the area where you install the dash kit? Here is why I'm wondering:

In my mazda, I installed an alpine head unit which can control my ipod through the headunit. So what i did was run the wire from the back of the headunit and through a hole i cut in the back of the glovebox. That way i could just keep my ipod on the glove box and control it through the headunit.

i'd like to do this to my Evo but I'm just wondering if it's possible.

If anyone can confirm I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
