REALLY? Interesting. i was just about to start a thread about this too. I got the same problem. I gotta check for acorns after work. But for my case i did notice that the creaking started in the morning pre-warm up and after 3 or 4 miles it'll go away. was this the case for you too?

I get this also from time to time, (no squirrels here). I have read elsewhere that some have had this sound coming from their brakes, but mine does not do it on braking.

quick question to you, did you change your brake pad recently? Does the nosie come from the rear?

the car has less than 6k miles, only did oil change, fuel return pipe recall and air bag sensor recall. never done brake pads. the sound comes from the front for sure. it happens when the front right wheel hit a bump or sometimes when i make left turn. its really annoying, im gonna do my second oil change this weekend and let them check!

as far as i know 2 possiblities. Something similar happened to me.

a) check for debris, i.e. pebbles, acorns stuck in the suspension spring.
b) did your dealer sell you the car with out taking out the spring stiffer thing ( i forgot whats its called its supposed to be these rubbler pads that fit in your springs that help prevent damage while being transported.) its supposed to be taken out when preped for pickup. Mine weren't. The guys at another dealer took em out for me when went for some recalls.

finally, the mitsubishi factory representative came today and they checked again for the noise. here is what they have on the paper work:

noise concerns
check for noise in susp mitsu rep will drive and inspect veh
road tested by mit service rep on 1/26/10
road tested with mit factory rep and was able to duplicate a body noise while twisting the body
this is a normal evo rally suspension noise due to the firmness in the suspension/no repairs required/vehicle operates as other like evos

and thats what i was told, they said it was body noise, no need to repair...
i dont even kno wut to do now....
