Tokyo Motor Show: Mazda Taiki Concept

RX-8 fans are rejoicing over the Mazda Taiki concept (http://news.windingroad.com/concept-cars/mazda-taiki-concept-appears-online-ahead-of-tokyo-motor-show/) because the RENESIS 16X engine (http://news.windingroad.com/car-buying/japan-report-mazda%e2%80%99s-16x-renesis/) that sits underhood will either appear in the current generation RX-8, or debut in the 2011 RX-8. The 16X adds displacement over the 13B-MSP which results in 20 percent increases in horsepower and torque.
The actual Taiki concept looks much better in person than photos suggest. It also looks like a blast to drive. The concept is supposed to be a visual representation of the flow of air, and we think it’s a fair representation of such an abstract concept.
