: I think the X can do the 'Ring' in 7:47
Jackygor 10-25-2007, 12:30 AM I predict the Evo X will do the ring the in 7:47, why?
The evo x out runs the 9 by 2 second in a 2 mile course, the ring is 14 miles long. The 9 did the ring in 8:11. According to my calculation, the X should out run the 9 by 24 seconds on the ring which is why I predict the X can do the ring in 7:47.
haha, I know this is a stupid theory and is obviously flawed, I am just having fun here!
Realistically, I think the X should dip into the 7:XX.
What do you all think?
TriStateEvo 10-25-2007, 01:01 AM The Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:47 in an Evo X? Now that would be something. To take down Godzilla in something as affordable as an Evo. I would pay to see that. If anything would shut up the X-Haters, that would definitely do it.

Well, I assume you a referring to the new GT-R. The official time for the new GT-R is actually 7:38, so the new X wouldn't beat it.
Haha, 2-4k over the 9's MSRP for 24 second improving on the 'ring', that would be great!

i would too pay to see that.but all of those x-haters will always find something crap to talk down the x.it really would be amazing if it got into the 7's.those that usually talk mess are the ones that have never beaten an evo.
ak47m203 10-25-2007, 03:56 AM i missed this thread and posted something about evo x lap time. since it is almost same hp not a big jump i think it will be 8:00 flat the best it can get even with the best driver.

I think the evo can definitely hit 8:00 flat.
I wonder how the X stakes against the new M3 on the track!

So the best time for an Evo so far is 8:25, neck and neck with the STi. We should expect the X to improve on this, but by how much? I'll let you know when GTHD comes out on PS3. :)

Damn! I am getting my PS3 back in Dec. Haha, maybe we can race online, SST VS 5MT!
Kooldino 10-25-2007, 10:00 PM 8:02 is my official guess.
Remember: it's heavier and slower in the straights. And there are ample straights on the ring.
_Chris_ 10-25-2007, 11:04 PM Under 8, with a really good driver.
soopah 10-29-2007, 07:25 AM Damn! I am getting my PS3 back in Dec. Haha, maybe we can race online, SST VS 5MT!
So far I don't do online. We have a wireless network and the PS3 doesn't connect at very high speeds (POS Telus). Fine with my laptop in the same room, but PS3 coughs it up trying to sign on to the Playstation store or downloading software updates.
Kooldino 10-29-2007, 02:39 PM But the PS3 is the pinnacle of all gaming!
Evozster 11-01-2007, 12:34 PM I'm looking into my crystal ball and...hold on.....I see....7...........55.......there I said it, 7:55 for the X
Parnelli 02-05-2008, 03:28 PM So has anyone had a chance to get an evo x on the Nordschleife yet? Has the X been released anywhere in Europe yet? I bet the Mitsu would like to get it under 8 mins flat
jpersinger 02-05-2008, 04:42 PM I remember reading some time ago, and I am fairly sure it was one of the primary magazine's like "Road and Track" or "Car and Driver", about a Mitsu test driver who made the statement that an Evo X would run leisurely 8:10's at the ring. What I am guessing is that this 8:10 is actually the best time they ran. I couldn't find the article again, it was online, and I hope that it wasn't removed at the request of Mitsu. But at any rate, I wouldn't get to excited. Mitsu has been seen testing the Evo X at Nurburgring since early-mid 2007 as far as I am aware. They have not made any claims of time as of yet. I wouldn't expect much quicker than 8:10. If the EvoX ran less than 8:00 they would be screaming it from the heavens.
Also, on what 2 mi. course is the Evo X 2 sec faster than the Evo IX? Was the IX driver aweful? Last I checked, on Tsukuba guys in IX's and prev. STI's were driving around the X...
ShahulX 02-05-2008, 05:50 PM it was a mitsu test course and it was 2 seconds faster than a usdm evo 9 with no ayc...
I think 8:10-8:05 at best.... The straights on the nur are too much
SATimko 02-05-2008, 06:08 PM The X will top out too soon on that long back stretch, where as most of the other cars will reach a much higher top speed, making up quite a bit of time. 8:05 is my guess.
I'd be really impressed if it could break 8:20. With the exception of a few lightweights, the fastest cars are all about top end horsepower.
SATimko 02-05-2008, 07:01 PM That is a good point. It is "only" a ~300 hp car.
PDXEvo 02-05-2008, 07:26 PM Yeah, I think the top speed of 150 might hurt this run though. Will be interesting for sure. However, it wont stop the haters. Almost all the haters focus on 1/4 mile because they are so simplistic. Most Americans cant understand, nor appreciate, what it takes for a car to be a great track car.
SATimko 02-05-2008, 07:34 PM Definitely agreed about the Americans. The only thing that I look at is the added weight in the X. That will hurt it. Sure it's got new technology which can help alot. But I don't see it helping it enough to enter Lambo territory.
Robevo 02-05-2008, 07:50 PM well the ring have some looong up hill straights .... you see where i'm going?
Not the corner is the problem there. When you see these cars over your time :

Just not enough power for that weight. And in those straights you going well over 130 mph. There is where you will loose a humangus time compere to these cars. :amen:
Jackygor 02-05-2008, 09:21 PM My theory was definitely flawed lol seeing how when I came up with it I had no performance number to refer to.
I think it will be slower than the 9.
HRCboy 02-05-2008, 09:25 PM I agree, I'd be surprised if it broke the 8:10 barrier in stock trim. My friend who goes their every summer says that straight is very very verrrrrryyyyyyy long. :)
SATimko 02-05-2008, 09:36 PM Hahaha, it's still faster than any car I have. LOL
LowUFO 02-05-2008, 11:47 PM By Jackygor's rational..If the X is faster than the IX over 2 miles by 2 seconds, then 14 mile track would be 14 seconds. If the IX actually had done it in 8:11, then the X should technically be a 7:57..Yep, flawed.
Truth be told, I'd be happy if the X beats the STi..Haha!
soopah 02-06-2008, 12:20 AM ^ What was the 08 STI's time around the 'Ring?
