^ I've installed an Innovate LM-2 wideband on my X. Its a wideband, scan tool, and data logger all in one. You're not installing an AFC on your car are you?

Yes. Anyone SERIOUS about modifying their evo needs a wideband.

This is what I run:

A SAFC is a piggyback fuel controller, a wideband measures your A/F ratio. Two totally different parts. Hopefully this helps.

SAFC MODIFIES your air:fuel ratios in some cars, and a wideband monitors them.

also dino, did you ever look into Zeitronix

Yes, it's a good product.

Those guys. I think i remember a couple of months that was like a few weeks or a month ago. You can ask them under contact us, and it might help speed up the process when they see alot of people asking for it.

And auto meter says they will make one, but in a letter told me it wont be a pillar design because of the airbags.

if the factory can make the apillar work with airbags why cant aftermarket???

EvoX08
12-05-2008, 09:26 AM
i dont know why the companies are stressing because cars like bmw and porche and mercedes all have pillar air bags, but i have seen cars built up with a-pillar gauge pods. I think its just getting a product for a new vehicle made up.

Why do some folks go with a Zt-2 vs say an AEM?

I'm looking to pick up a wideband, the tactrix cable and PCMScan (initially, moving to something that can log knock later on).

Would both the Zt-2 and the AEM be compatible with pushing data out to the PC? Looks like maybe the ZT-2 controller allows for the addition of an EGT and that might be a big plus for it?

IIRC, the AEM can log, but I've personally never done it.

Yes it does data log if you go to radio shack and build a serial out put and tap into the wires of the AEM UEGO. Super simple, thought it would be hard but it wasn't. Not I just have to actually install the serial output....then again I need an actual pod for the gauge instead of temporary double sided tape, haha.

I might have to do this till someone gets off their @$$ and makes a gauge pod for the a pillar.

Does anyone know if there are any widebands that output to the PC via straight USB as opposed to serial?

I know there are serial to usb port converters and I've used them a bunch at work to connect to solaris ILOM ports and what not, but they are a pain in the ASS to get working right. I've also heard some folks say that they get dropped connections with these converters.

So, any of these output to usb? I haven't had a laptop with a serial port in like a decade lol.
