Okay, can someone shed a little light on the subject of wheel balancing. There are two different ways to balance a wheel / tire. A static balance and a dynamic balance. The dynamic is the better of the two, but they must use lead weights attached to the outside of the rim. (My X came from the factory with ugly and damaging lead weights on the rim.) The static balance isn't as good, but they can use adhesive weights on the barrel of the rim saving your lip from paint chips. I know a good deal of you guys out there have Volks, Work, AME, BBS, etc. wheels. IE - very expensive. I'm sure none of you want the lead weight ruining your rim. But, does the static balance do a sufficient job?

In the past, I've only had one balance that was done correctly other than the factory balance. I've tried both ways of balancing. What does everyone do in this situation? Ruin the rim and let them hammer lead weights into your $700 each TE37? Or take the chance on the static balance with adhesive weights?
