The “Quark” innovates with its engine. The electrical power provided by its batteries and the fuel cell is transmitted to four independent electrical motors located in each of the vehicle’s wheels. Thanks to these technologies, the driver enjoys systems such as ABS, ESP, cornering assistance and others… It also has a recuperatory braking system. This allows recuperation of energy in deceleration when the electric motor brakes, in order to reduce the vehicle’s overall consumption.

On the road to the ideal, concerned with saving space and simplifying the system, the “Quark” has an air-cooled battery and a hydrogen store in a single cylinder. This “Plug&Drive” cylinder is at the rear , underneath the seat, in an aluminum rack.

At the forefront of hitech, the “Quark” has a Removable Communications Interface. This small, multi-function device (antitheft / starter, navigation by satellite, Bluetooth telephone, MP3 reader, electronic diary etc), is located just in front to the joystick, and activates the operation of the vehicle when in place.

Yeah, it's just a concept car, but this one might find its way onto the highway. It's the 400hp Toyota FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept, set to roll out on January 7 at the Detroit Auto Show. What really caught our eye was the Electric Tesla-like numbers (http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/tesla-roadster-electric-060-in-four-seconds-188565.php) of zero-to-60 in 4 seconds, and one big figure that's actually smaller than expected: Toyota is shooting for the mid-$30,000 price range.
Even though we like the Toyota Prius, it is kind of dorky looking. Maybe elements of this design could be incorporated into the next Prius. This is something we could live with.

Mazda Motonari RX
The Motonari RX, named after legendary Japanese warrior Mori Motonari, non-invasively integrates the driver with the vehicle making each indistinguishable from the other. A driving suit serves as the primary interface between the occupant and the vehicle, which contains millions of microscopic actuators functioning as a haptic envelope. This allows the driver to experience the road psycho-somatically, receiving electrical stimulation to specific muscle groups.

The entire structure of the vehicle is comprised of a 100 percent re-prototypable, carbon nano-tube/shape memory alloy weave with a photovoltaic coating. This enables programmable tensiometry and fluid movement while insuring efficient energy transfer to the in-wheel electro-static nanomotors.

The four omni-wheels allow 360 degree movement. Acceleration and direction is determined by two armrest mounted control points. Occupant positioning controls the effectiveness of cornering and is comparable to street luge maneuvering in appearance.

It's definitely a wild concept, and of course it makes a lot of assumptions about the world in 2057.

Basically there are no accidents because all vehicles have collision avoidance systems. --without that, the vehicle/suit would just not be possible.

Buick China if I recall correctly. We'll never see anything like that in North America from General Motors :P
