I presume, this is common for Evos and Lancers.
I really miss heated mirrors in my Evo. I know that some models come equipped with them. Is there an easy way to upgrade, like change the mirror elements and hook up wires somewhere? I guess it should be switched on by the window heater button.
Any part numbers?

I didn't get it as an option, but my base GSR has heated mirrors. They are on when the rear defrost is on.

Canada is frozen. They need heated mirrors. NY hardly gets snow. We got one slight storm so far this year. I have yet to scrape my side mirrors cause they are frozen in the morning.

I got them installed. I took used mirror elements from the regular Lancer and they fit without problems. All I had to do is disassemble the connectors to run the wires through the hole and then put it back together. All works great now, no ice or snow on them :)
BTW in Russia they also sell Evos with heated mirrors and seats, but since mine is USDM I didn't have them, and I'd say they are very necessary over here.

That is a great idea, do you have pics of this install or the controller on the dash?

No controller is necessary. Heating works from the rear window heater button. The sockets in the doors where the mirrors connect already have necessary wiring. All you need to do is to connect the heated mirror element to them either by tuckign the wires in the mirror sockets or directly to those wiers. I don't remember the exact pinout, but I'm sure you could find them in the service manual. If not, let me know, I'll try to dig them out.

Forget Heated Mirrors , I remember having to plug my engine block heater before going to bed while growing up in Canada. I believe my GSR sss has heated mirrors.

They supply (i.e. sell) a lot of stuff to ClubCJ (a CJ Lancer/CZ Evo forum in Australia) and they offer heated folding mirrors for the Lancer. Not sure if available in LHD.

Ive tried the rear window defrost button and that hardly defrosts the rear window nevermind the mirrors!!

im wondering this myself. I'm in afghan so my car is in storage and hasnt seen a winter yet. There is no defrost symbol on the mirrors... is there another way of telling if it has heated mirrors or not.

Im having a debate on another forum, and they are ganging up on me a bit saying the X has heated mirrors.

Mine are 100% not working if they are installed, and infact have never ever worked in nearly 4 yrs!!

thanks, things are pretty quiet here. But yea im really curious to find out of the evox has heater mirros, i was planning on installing some since i have a hard enough time seeing my mirrors with my 5% up front...lol. Will be really impossible to see with ice or snow on them

Mine is an '08 MR (Canadian), definitely has heated mirrors and they function awesome. I have not noticed a symbol on the glass part of the mirror or nothing but they do come on with the rear window heater button.
