It took about 90 mins each coat. I applied two coats. If youre gonna put multiple coats, wait 12+ hours between each one.
davidiii 12-28-2008, 01:37 AM wow looks great! takes a long time for a good wax job but man its worth it!
I don't have the 2.0 version of the wax...just the original nxt wax. I apply a layer of meguirers polish prior to using the nxt wax though. I'll get pictures soon as I just finished up the process and of course it started to rain outside.
EvoX2NR 12-28-2008, 02:13 PM judging by your flag in the back... looks like we have the same employer..lol

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to hit it with a coat tomorrow morning and then again on Wednesday.

Outstanding!!!I wish the MR came in Blue...
Stellar24 01-06-2009, 07:49 PM I used the NTX 2.0 wax the other day and I was happy with the results. It rained on and off the next 4 days and every time it got a chance to dry off there were no spots or dirt like there were before.
Kooldino 01-06-2009, 10:24 PM I'm a bit of a Zaino fanboi, but here's why:

Godzila 01-14-2009, 10:10 AM I think what you guys don't get is ...its not the wax that gives it the "shine". It is the oils in the paint without the contaminants that gives it the shine.
I'm starting to see how on many car forums, they just post a pic of their car...saying "just waxed"...and then someone follows by " damn good"....
Wax is nothing more than a sealant. Some might have a "slight shine" but it is very unnoticeable at the best.
I use machine applicator and go through wash, clay, paintcleaner, polish, and 2 coats of wax when i detail my car. Done it by hand once, but took 8hrs plus. It is washing the car and cleaning the paint that shines it up. If the car is old, polishing it will rejuvenate it.
Detailing a car is like being a skin care doctor.
Geaux 4 Breauxk 03-31-2009, 02:27 AM Just so everyone knows, and this is of no reflection on anyone here, Tech Wax = FAIL!
I use all Meguires products and have for the last 13 years. At a dealership that I worked at a few years ago I got a chance to be a vendor, and that had some unique opportunities. Their Tech Wax is their basic wax and last 1/3 the time any of their products.
The best thing you can get from them, and I swear by it, is the Gold Class Wax. It is the best shine, finish, swirl filler, and longest lasting wx they have before you get into their pro line of cutters and polishes.
Just my opinion. But here is my Portfolio (http://www.militarytuners.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3523) as proof.
Scott
NXT is okay as a topper .. definitely not the best protection you'll get but good for off the shelf and easy to apply. It doesn't have any cutting so you'll have to remove swirls and polish before applying. Does have some fillers.
Gold Class Wax is total crap. It was decent when it came out... like 16 years ago? Go on any car detailing forum and they'll laugh at you if you bring it up. Technology has changed a lot since this came out. It is a all in one cleaner wax which means it contains polishing agents... if you use it often enough you'll end up causing swirls and scratches.
Geaux 4 Breauxk 03-31-2009, 05:34 AM ?? ok.
Evo X Fbg 03-31-2009, 11:56 PM ok, then. wich one is the better to use. i like to wax my car every 2 weeks. its ok to do it like that or its better wait more time. thanks
Talon_66 04-01-2009, 12:03 AM I use Zymol, not cheap shit either. $80
Zymol Japon

You wax your car every two weeks?
Jeez.
MrPurpleEvo 04-01-2009, 12:26 AM my roomate always use's this wax...he loves it... makes his candy paint job come ALIVE!!!
Oreo X 04-01-2009, 12:49 AM Subscribed because I wanna know what wax is best? I use Tech Wax now though currently.
Geaux 4 Breauxk 04-01-2009, 02:32 AM When done right, my car stays clean for about 4 to 6 weeks depending on the amount I drive it. Same for my customers. This thread is a very IMO type place, but Gold Class is what I use and never had an issue with it. I hate how the car feels with Tech and it never last that long either.
If you use it often, I'd use the NXT... Gold Class is mainly a cleaner wax and as I mentioned, it does contain abrasive polishers that can cause swirls and scratches if you use it often. NXT is synthetic sealant based and Gold Class is a carnuba wax. They feel and look very different. Sealants don't feel as slick but protect better and longer. Carnubas have a very slick feel but washes off easily. Look-wise sealants give more a glass-like reflective appearance to the paint. Carnubas have a softer look which some prefer.
You can read this article about carnubas vs sealants.

My go to products include the Werkstatt line which is developed and imported from Germany. Excellent acrylic-based sealants that are very durable.

Also, I have recently been using the Ultima Paint Guard Plus... this stuff is super durable and looks incredible. Application takes less than 15 minutes. Just wipe on and walk away. Of course like any pure sealant, you need to prep the surface to properly bond it. This product is very similar in appearance as Zaino Clear Seal but lasts longer.

I rarely use any off the shelf products for my car or the cars that I work on. You'll find a quality sealant or wax will not stain trim or make any kind of "wax dust"... the dust is the abrasives that you are wiping way.

Oreo X 04-15-2009, 05:00 PM So whats a good wax for the non-hardcore people that want to put some on after a simple car wash and claybar?
MOB EVO X 04-15-2009, 05:38 PM So whats a good wax for the non-hardcore people that want to put some on after a simple car wash and claybar?
Yes! I would like to know this too.

bump for wanting to know what works good without having to use a buffer.
Talon_66 04-20-2009, 05:29 PM Zymol is really easy stuff.
You apply it with your hands, no pads. You massage it into the paint. Buffs off easily with a microfiber cloth. Doesnt leave white residue.
SiliconTek 06-20-2009, 03:36 AM I just finished another coat tonight. This stuff is so fun to apply, smells so good. Requires zero buffing to get off, just drag a rag. It does not discolor black plastic pieces.
