Guys I have decided to start a new thread to give you frequent updates about what we are doing.
It's tough to know exactly what a shop is capable of unless you come to visit so hopefully you are able to gain some insight into what we are capable of. If you guys have any requests for certain insight I will do my best to show you guys all I can, however when it comes to customer cars I can only divulge what I am allowed.
The last event we competed in was a little light in attendance but was a nice relaxed atmosphere which can sometimes make up for the racing. We took our Project GTR down to Englishtown and had a great time running, even if only to the 1000 foot mark.
attendance The GTR is fully equipped with the HKS GT800 kit, and managed a 10.0( full quarter mile) on our first pass at the event, hopefully a good sign of things to come.
The R35 has proven to be a very capable platform, and has given us great insight into potential solutions to the EVO X MR drivetrain woes that high powered cars are currently suffering from.
I am looking forward to sharing some more updates on cars we are working on and events we compete in over the course of the summer.
This is an evo X that sees the full gamut in terms of driving duties. When I mean everything, I mean, everything from Central Park in Manhattan in a foot of snow to cross country races ( like BullRun), or track days up at Monticello.
The owner had made the call that a bit more power was needed but wanted to do without losing the ability to have a nice conversation in the cabin nor attract the attention of police. He had his exhaust painted flat black to keep the stealth factor high. I happen to think the combination of black/black/ carbon fiber works very well.
^ Not sure how stealthy 4 inch exhaust tips can be.
In any case, I'd like to know what was done to ensure it stays looking nice and flat black? My first impulse is to think that the finish on that will last a week...
Agreed that there is no hiding 4 inch tips, however just changing the color from something so shiny makes a pretty huge improvement for those wanting to be more subtle.
The customer had these painted by a vendor of his own choosing so I cannot accurately say what methods or products they used.
Some in house fab work from earlier this week! Lots of people don't know that we have the ability to fabricate exhausts, intakes, intercooler piping, etc in house.
09 RA's have different mounting points and IIRC the X undertray extends out further. BTW, there's plenty of interest for this skit plate in the RA community.
We can fab anything, the only issue is that it takes a lot of time to produce anything that is a one off. Looking at something like that undertray, i won't tell you that we won't make one for you but I would venture a guess that the cost to produce one would be far more expensive than most would be willing to spend!
Maybe stop by the shop sometime to have a chat and we can figure somethign out for you!
I'll leave you guys with the Power House Amuse Ti Catback for the Evox, fabrication porn at its finest.
Sam
