I'm with you there. My '11GT on paper looks like a m3 killer. In reality, it feels like I'm riding in a piece of tupperware, and ergo's make it feel like I'm docking a boat. I wanted to love the car, but I just can't.

On a different note, people are starting to elude to the fact that the '14 evo won't be hybrid or diesel. That makes sense with the '14 sti getting none of that treatment. I wonder what mitsu has up their sleeve, and if I should wait for that.

If you wait and don't like what you see, you should still be able to find and get a '13 for cheaper than you can now I would think.

It's blazing fast and fun at times but the seats are terrible, Ford is on their 4th revision of front lower control arms and they still clunk and groan, chinese junk transmission that doesn't work under 50 degrees, constant rust bubble issues in the aluminum hoods dating back to 2008, leaking rear differentials, bouncing ballbearing metallic pinging noise in the engine with the AC on at idle. All these issues in 14 months ownership and I'm looking to get out of this car fast before the warranty expires. My 2008 EVO X in comparison felt much more solid and built to last.

As for the next EVO I haven't even seen pictures or rendering of the next Lancer which means we won't see a new EVO at least a year after the new Lancer is introduced.

I think many of those issues were cured on the 2013 model, including awesome RECAROS as an option.

That's a very good point, but I think with the center diff, trans, and s-awc temperability, this is a car I will only buy new. A nos '13 wouldn't be bad if I was patient. (knowing myself not likely, lol)

I'm don't think I'm going to be able to wait that long to find out. I'm in the unique position that the car in "fair condition" is still worth more than I paid for it, so I'm most likely going to get out of it before value drops more.

I agree, my evo felt like a 7-series compared to the GT. I'm weighing the options, but the evo is top 4 of what I will get into next. What are you getting when you sell the mustang?

My bad, wasn't clear enough. I meant that when the details on the '14 model come out, there should still be '13 models waiting to be sold. So you get your info and still get to buy a new car either way.

Didn't mean to imply buying used.

But to say the Evo X platform is crap in any way relating to performance is a far cry from reality. It's like a cheap bastard's GTR, which makes the typical Evo X > GTR transfer a logical choice.

lol... 450rwhp on stock block for how long???

Nope. The control arm failure and manual transmission issues are still happening to 2013 users and despite many other manufacturers having no issues with aluminum hoods Ford will likely never get it. Ford did eliminate the piston oil squirters in 2013 coyote engines but it's too early to tell if the ticking problems have been alleviated as it doesn't materialize until the 2nd or 3rd oil change. The car feels solid enough and the paint and interior materials are pretty decent for the price but the car just isn't built very well.

I'm not so sure about that, I thought the Evo X was built as an Evo first then downscaled to be produced as an economy car, maybe that's not the case but I thought I remembered seeing Evo X pics and drawings before anything base lancer came out.

STI is out becasue I want something more reliable than the Mustang. Thinking 2013 GSR or maybe mkVII GTI if they come with the rumoured more power. May wait until spring as winter in Canada isn't a great time to be purchasing new cars.
