Glad to see you guys are fixing yours, I seem to be out of options, I have no idea what seals to get, local Mitsubishi dealer shows no rings/seals in that area, others the same, just one of them had ONE ring showing up there, 3200A144 nobody knows what it is but I will wait for a week for it to arrive.

Local dealer sells the car for 42 000 Euros (54 000 $), it fails miserably at 30000 miles and when you ask for parts they have no idea and show you a blank page.

There is no part number for the o ring described in the first post. Since mitsubishi does not manufacture the T case, they just replace the whole unit when something fails. I had the same leak on mine, and fixed it in under an hour.

Drain the TCase, take the 4 bolts off the back housing, clean the o ring and apply a small amount of black RTV around it and put it all back together. No more leak.

There is more to take off than just the housing, right? Doesn't it need to take off axes and the central shaft to back diff ? (don't know the terms).

I'm referring to the original post, and the leak that he showed. It was the same exact leak that I had, all I did was:

Drain the TCase
Remove the two DP bolts from the o2 elbow
Remove that "weight" from the back of the TCase
Remove the Driveshaft
Remove the 4 bolts on the back housing
Clean off the oring, and its mating surfaces
Reinstall with a SMALL amount of black RTV (if the oring isn't damaged, mine wasn't)
Put all the shit back together.

The dealer said they had to drop the whole front subframe to get the transfer case out...Can't help but feel like my car is never going to be the same again. Getting it back in a few hours, we'll see.

Your car will be fine. Dropping subframe is standard. Guess how many times my car has had its sub frame dropped? Guess. Promise you I've been through more with my transmission / transfer case.

Your car will be fantastic when you get it back. Best of luck

Got it back yesterday. I just about shat my pants when I saw the $6k cost of the transfer case. It drives just as it did before, no new noises or any weird behavior so far. I can still smell fluid burning off when I come to a stop. The dealer assured me that while they did clean as much off as they could, its still in places they couldn't get to and could continue to burn off for a while. I'm going to throw it up on some ramps and make sure its not still spewing out fluid just to make sure. FYI, the new fluids didn't change anything as far as shifting goes, still pretty notchy throughout.

Yep the whole thing was warranty covered. My car is 110% stock too. They never questioned anything, in fact they seemed quite eager to work on it. I did have to drop 500 bucks for the 30k service. Thought it'd be a good idea to do since the car was being worked on and they had to replace the front Tcase fluid anyway. I've got 26k miles, and I baby the shit out of my car.
