I feel the need to discuss this with everybody and not just DSG. I've just came across in the other forum that a DSG pillar had multiple cracks near the filler material around the pod. The guy also stated that it got worst from the sun. In addition to the multiple people on this thread requesting returns of their pillars has me wondering if this is going to happen to the new batches as well? I really hope this is something that will be addressed in the future batches as I'm paying for a quality solution to mount my gauges. I don't mean to stir shit up but I don't want to have to deal with getting something that will be inferior in quality. If so, I might as well make my own and not pay $265. This is not a post to knock DSG in anyway! I applaud DSG for coming up with a solution for us Evo X owners. Im just hoping that after waiting for months on the gauge pod, that it will be no issues with it. Please discuss.

Very fair post! No pot stirring, don't worry about it - I'ts my job to answer questions or alleviate concerns and I am glad to help.

Firstly, thank you for the kind words! As you know, we began building these just for you guys, the community and we appreciate your appreciation.

Our Pillars are designed and built to the utmost quality, we take our time in order to ensure that when we ship our product it is done right and that you receive a part that will not only fill your need for a gauge pod solution but compliment on the aesthetic of your interior. However, like every other product on the market - unfortunately, every so often you get a lemon or two. There is simply no way around it. It happens to turbos, to carbon hoods, to intakes and to exhausts. I've heard of every single product on the market failing at least once, what is important is how it is handled.

We offer a warranty on our Pillars for the exact reason that we do not expect them to fail, and should they - we have our customers covered. To date we've sold and shipped over 205 pillars (the list on the first page does not cover all sales, only forum related) and have had very few with issues. Unfortunately, they do happen - when the products leave our facility, they are in perfect condition but this is a painted product and there are a variety of factors that come into play that could cause this to happen. Should it, we have our customers send the Pillar back to us for a full repair at no charge. The one downside to this currently is the turnaround time, but we're working on improving it all the time and with this in mind we have been building extra's along with this current batch so should the issue arise, we can offer a swap. A couple customers requested paint sent to them which has been sent out and is en route via snail mail post, it'l be there soon boys!

The Pillar has no issues in the sun, I've been running our prototype since we began the process and I daily drive my Evo, parking it in full sunlight every single day outside our offices. If a Pillar does get a crack and it is left untreated, it's movement from every day driving that will cause it to worsen not the sunlight. We utilize OEM quality paint, that many OE manufacturers use themselves. Not to mention, as be progress batch after batch we improve on our methods and make them better and better, as with any other product.

If you don't mind, please shoot me a PM with the link you were referring to as we aren't supposed to post the links openly to the "other forum" and I want to make sure that customer is taken care of, just in case he's someone I'm not aware of. Currently any customer who has contacted me about this has been taken care of, and will be receiving follow ups to any PM's shortly. No man get's left behind!

Fair enough. Sean, your reply put me at ease. I was actually a bit worried when some pillar owners have posted problems with their pillars in this thread. After seeing the pictures of the cracks in the other forum, it made me more worried that the future batches will have the same issues.

I understand that custom made products will have it's issues. Like you said, as long as it gets taken care of in a timely manner, is all that matters. Did you try to use another type of plastic filler or maybe a flex additive for plastics perhaps? This will alleviate all the repair work for the few that might need it in the future.

Either way, I'm glad you've addressed my concerns and perhaps many others who purchased or was on the fence about purchasing this pillar. Actually, your response might be a good disclaimer for this product.

I'm willing to take my chances with a vendor that backs their products. I can't wait to get mine!

I will PM you the link right now.

Contemplating one of these, but where is production at? Are you only truly up to #58 in batch 3, or is there already a list for batch 4??

The other thing you might want to take into account is that the cracking etc. can come from the individuals themselves trying to wrestle the pod into place. It's not just a piece of ABS plastic, gotta be careful with it.(Happened to a buddy of mine from San Fran.)

Sean you owe me multiple PMs >:[

Sean, I have contacted you on multiple occasion since I returned my A Pillar for repair for this exact issue. I was never made aware from you as to the turn around time for repairs. I got one response where you said there was nothing in my message. There is no phone number that I can find to contact you, I am in the state and can't afford the long distance call. I would like to know when the pillar will be repaired and sent back, to be honest I would rather get my money back like I asked you for to begin with. If the issue does not get resolved soon I will reach out to the forum mods.

Get Rad, I've replied to all your PM's save two from this week as I have had not had a chance to reply to them yet. I'm going over my PM's this morning that I have pending still and you'll have one in a bit. You're prior message had been a giant quote of our previous conversation, of which I replied to immediately telling you there was no new content. My guess is you accidentally replied within the quotation but it was impossible for me to find, which happens. It's often with guys using the autoguide app lol. I can forward it to you so you see what I mean. Anyways, we've received the Pillar and its being inspected/undergoing repairs. Unfortunately you didn't send the pillar in for quite a bit of time after you received the label. We had sent it out to you in May, confirmed delivery the 31'st and only received it back recently for repairs.

Please continue this conversation in PM's, this thread is intended for the current and new batch information but I am more than glad to help you out and that is the easiest way.
