Long read:
Ok Let me address something I've been getting asked since my track run as to why would I run at the track on 25 Psi when I make 600 at 30. When I was at the track on 24 psi (cause of a boost leak) on Sep 22 I had ZERO seat time with the car. I put on my drag radials trying to guarantee some 1.7 60fts but nothing happened the way I thought since I was cutting 2.0 60fts and running 12.0's and 12'1's @ 124. I was under the impression I was just going to go out there and be the man and that was hardly the case. After the event I analyzed the shit out of my timeslips and the video tape. Saw tons of errors and knew after some simple math I had a shot at 11.1-11.4's with the car the way it sat. Fast forward to me going to a Dyno Day in PA on OCT 13th. I fixed two boost leaks one being the plastic filter inline to my boost gauge was split in two before heading out to the dyno event. Car was just running strong (too strong lol) and when I hopped on the dyno it kicked out 30 psi like it was it's job. Got a number out of it which is great. I had only dynod up to 28 psi on pump at this point but at least I knew now the same tune would hold 30. Three days later I decide to go back to the track and redeem myself. Since I know people would nit pick I decided I was going to have to beat the previous pump gas record of 11.4@128 the same way it was set or I'd get flack for it. So street tires, on pump gas, no more than 27 psi plus I'm on a single disc but the last guy needed to upgrade to a twin or triple to finally lay down his time. I know I didn't need a 600whp car to beat an 11.4. So I then lowered the boost back down to 25. Did my first run and saw the car was traping the same as back on sep 22 and from that point I just started to drive the car till I knew what the hell I was doing. Took me 5 passes but on that 5th one everything clicked and I was able to put a respectable 11.3 run together. Noticed my traps never changed so I never played with the boost. I just pushed the car and myself harder and harder in the spots where the times weren't were they needed to be like the 330ft and 1/8. After I beat the pump gas record I was running 11's constant to the point I could flub and shift and still run an 11.8. My Tuner/coach said I was at the limit of these 235 all seasons so now I'm ready to try for 10's. I threw on the Evo8 rims with Drag radials on them, uped the boost to 26 psi and went at it. Unfortunately the hybrid single disc clutch I had in my car couldn't take it. It was already slipping since my 11.3 run and the drags radials during the launch plus top end power just ripped it apart. I now need a twin or tripple before I can go pull down a 10 second pass which I feel will be easy enough to do. Even watching my vids you can tell how slow I was shifting since the single disc was fighting me and I needed to guarantee the shifts or I'd throw the whole pass away. And thats the story. Any other questions please ask or just PM me.

Looked pretty solid to me. I was going to buy that turbo kit when he first posted it but decided to stick with the red. I'm sure with a little more seat time, 10's won't be a problem

Awsome numbers Sun. And good writeup on your boost choices and experiences. Keep them coming. Good luck with clutch and reaching the 10s.

LOL... You know, Darksun and I were just talking about you on sunday. I told him that you were one of the few in the current evo x community that were working their evo x the "old school" way. A) Make "x" power, B) practice on the track till you run "y" time and THEN make more power to go back and repeat step A. I think the day you put a larger snail on your car you'll drop 7-8 tenths on your first track outing.
Sometimes a car can be a lil "too much". Since power is nothing with-out control-- you gotta learn how to "steer the reigns" before going full kill with the set-up. Keep in mind that all the pump gas fun is still only practice for when he puts some "go juice" in the gas tank and cranks up 40psi.

Does this tuner really not know about map switching? How is an MBC where you truly have to conduct trial + error every time you make an adjustment (this number of turns = this boost adjustment in PSI) better than establishing multiple maps that can either be swapped out care of Tephra's mods or by swapping out a map by flashing? Wat?
MBC = suck. I would never let you touch my car.
