Hopefully there will be lots and lots of pages here, seems like there are way to many horror stories on this forum.

the only reason you hear negative is because no posts a "everything is going a-ok"thread. These cars are SOLID. I'm a firm believer of that after the absolute shellacking I've given this car over the past two years. And I'm not the only one. A few buddies around me that track have had the same experience. Most of the time, not all but most, issues arise from someone exceeding what the car can reliably do. Or a bad tune. A bad tune is the absolute death-kneel for these cars. On the other hand, a great tune can really make these things shine. And you cannot skimp on the preventative maint. Its pricey, but to keep these bastards healthy, you must aggressively keep up on that. I've already changed my $200 trans fluid twice in 15k miles, but its cheap insurance. its good to have threads like this, keeps things balanced.
I'm sure something will happen eventually, but that is inevitable with any car.

8k miles and no issues currently. Some annoying rattles and nuances but overall still pulling strong.

I hear you, its just things like failed ACD pumps, timing chain stretch, diff pins blowing holes in the tranny, etc Those are scary.

I think they're rare, but after reading on this forum for a few hours you think its bound to happen to every car.

300 miles, no problems. My buddies 2011 MR has around 10k with light mods. No issues there either.

But.. 08 GSR w/ 53k, full bolt-ons/coilovers, arm bars etc - no drivetrain/motor issues, stock clutch. Steering wheel angle sensor needs to be replaced.

How do you know that sensor needs to be replaced?

Exactly. In general nobody says a word when everything is good, but everybody will bitch when something goes wrong (myself included). Every forum for every car has tons of negativity. But in the spirit of this thread, bought her brand new in November, 1400mi and zero issues. Btw Morricus, I'm in Oak Forest and I'm pretty sure I've seen you at one or two of the NASA Autobahn events this past year . I was flogging a different ride though.

~21k miles, 15 months, and like 1100gal of fuel consumed...no issues, except squeaks and rattles.
