That's good for you, but you really are in the minority here. In most places of the country, they do show up and rape you.

My question is this: If I was wearing my seatbelt, and he didn't figure out I didn't have a license or inspection sticker until after he pulled me over... Why did he pull me over? Not sure. I would have asked him.

he put the No Seatbelt on there to use that as his probable cause to pull me over? Isn't he legally supposed to advise me of why he pulled me over?As a police officer we don't have to tell you why we pulled you over but it is the courteous thing to do. State Troopers and Motorcycle traffic cops are revenue makers for the state, county or city. Most would give their mother a ticket if they thought she broke the law. I'm not sure on the inspection sticker. We don't have those in Oregon. [/QUOTE]

Yea, sometimes cops pull people over for no reason/stupid reasons. My favorite was when a cop pulled a u turn to pull me over because and I quote "my exhaust looked loud" of which at the time I had a silencer in the tip so t was stock quiet.. So he then proceeded to tell me my tint was illegal and that the back tint( in NY can be any darkness) was reflective(it's not) and also illegal.. And gave me a ticket... Needless to say ticket was dropped by the DA.

I have yet to get followed by cops....but then again I've only had the evo for 3 months. Did get pulled over once on the highway doing 81, although I was in uniform and so I was let go.

Never really had any problems with the police. First time was in a minivan because one of the tail lights were out and the second I was also in uniform. Both were pretty nice, shook my hand, and let me go.

I've never had a cop show up, nor do I know anyone.

Even my buddy who got 4 tickets at once an his car towed, the cop still didn't show up.

Almost everything is reduced to a parking ticket in NYS if you have a good record.

I wouldn't bother getting a lawyer unless I was pulled over for 100mph + or street racing.

Strickly because you drive an Evo.

I got pulled over in my gf's town when I had my turboed civic and the cops reasoning was "this type of car is a highly stolen car and you were driving suspicious"

They can find many loop holes to pull you over.

I've been pulled over once in the Evo, I took the ticket and got not points. Well, that's a lie, I got pulled over twice, but the first time is because my idiot friends were drinking Ale 8 in the back of my car and we were at a lakeside community where drinking and driving occurs regularly. The cop who pulled me over laughed when he saw the mistake, though. Point of the story is, in my time since owning this car (ages 21-25), I've been pulled over twice, even when I was in college and drove like an idiot.

I don't think it's profiling, I think it might just be poor driving.

EDIT

Not in everyone's case, though, as some situations actually are profiling. But that's an outlier.

Since this thread turned into personal stories from their evo diaries... I moved to Portugal. The ONE time I saw a cop in the year I've been here, I flew by him going over 100 and all he did was wave hello.

HA! Nice. Aren't the cutting public workers salaries to the bone? He prob didn't get paid enough to care, or he didn't have enough gas in his tank to follow.
