Interior soft led lighting

Hi guys

Some major vanity here

This is something I tend to do on all my cars - custom soft led lighting

On the evo, I started with normal 3mm LEDs and sanded them to an opaque finish, as this gives them a more wide spread and softer beam rather than being typically directional. I also stepped down the brightness with resistors. All wired into ignition so always on

I installed LEDs in all 4 door handles, door pockets and glove box

Next mod was to add illuminated window switches for all 4 windows and change out the green single led to red. I purchased 3 spare window switches off a local wrecker to salvage the windowed drivers buttons, and it showed the circuit board was pre-wired for all 4 LEDs, but Mitsu only soldered on 1 LED - obvious this circuit board is a common part and some different high end jdm model must get 4 LEDs lol

This was going to a simple case of soldering 4 new LEDs - but I was wrong. Somewhere along the mode cycle Mitsu changed the circuit board for drivers window to be auto up AND down, so this new circuit board wasn't pre-wired. This didn't deter me and I ended up with this

But once installed it worked perfectly

Awesome! Surprised you did this because I was actually planning on doing something very similar this weekend haha. My LEDs are on order right now..are these just standard orange LEDs? That is what I ordered but not sure of the match..I've heard people painting them to get a closer oem match though.

Also for the switches do you mind posting up what type of LEDs and resistors were used? I wasn't planning on doing that but it seems simple enough and would help a ton at night.

that looks amazing. what are the other two switches on the center console? I know one is the AWC and the other is likely an Intercooler water sprayer, but whats the third one?

Pretty sure it's the switch for the adaptive lighting we didn't get.
