Upgrading fuel lines

I'm thinking about upgrading my fuel lines to go with my Boomba fuel rail and new FPR setup. Now the Boomba fuel rail can take up to -8an fittings, I've noticed most stick with -6an and most FPRs are -6an. I'm going to replace the entire fuel line from pump to fuel rail so should I go with -8an or just stick with -6an fittings and fuel line size? Pump is going to be Aeromotive 340 stealth.

I'd recommend the wally 400, the pump rocks. I have a 6AN line, but its not too much bigger than stock, if you want to go big go 8AN but 6AN works for me at 650whp on e85.

Did you get an install kit with your Wally? I'm just wondering if 8an will be overkill or not. The boomba fuel rail has the preformed stock quick disconnect attached but the inner diameter is larger than stock but if I remember right it can be removed. I'm hoping to get around 700-800whp as a dd lol

700-800whp and you are worried about overkill? lol! Good one

I don't think 8AN would necessarily be overkill, better too much than not enough, and the cost difference will probably be minimal. yes my wally came with a kit, MAP put it in, ask them there if you want the same thing.

Lol.

It's pretty much the same price for 6an and 8an.

Cool I may look into it but the 340 should work fine.

i would think the stock lines should be enough to support the max power of a 340 pump

The 340 will support 1000hp at 40psi, I'm not sure the stock lines will be up to par.

Honestly, I don't know why you would put a wally 400 pump in. I trust walboro way more than aeromotive (have seen this fail often) and you will have extra capacity. Also with a better pump you can overcome smaller lines so maybe you don't have to upgrade the line.

Just saying.

But for your power levels I vote 8AN over 6AN as long as you are in there. I don't think there are any disadvantages going bigger.
