Question about Deceleration
Sometimes (very rarely) when I let off the gas pedal, around either 3k or 2k RPMs, the RPMs don't go down and stick at the location they were at when I took my foot off the gas. Not sure what's going on just curious as to what's causing it and if it's something I need to worry about.
Thanks for any answers, greatly appreciate it! |

Almost sounds like a rev hang. Not sure if our cars have that with the factory tune or not but that's honestly what it sounds like

its called rev hang and nobody seems to know how to fix this issue. people seem to think it has something to do with emissions.
the only solution is to tap your clutch. usually (not every time) this will disengage the fuel.

Thanks for all the prompt responses! Yes I'm still on the stock clutch and flywheel, and it was after driving on the freeway for a good 20 minutes so I don't think it was an issue with it being too cold.
I did recently install a catback (no test pipe yet), and the issue seemed to start after that. This is the first time it's happened to me, and it only happened twice on the way home and was remedied by braking so I'm not that worried. I just wanted to verify that it wasn't something serious like the car running lean and rods about to blow through the head! A little off topic...but I'm about to order the ETS short ram intake, and I know it "says" that it's safe to use on the stock tune, and I've done research and people seem to confirm this to a certain extent...but is it "truly" safe to use on the stock tune? |

Yes the ets intake is "safe" to run on stock tune because it still utilizes the stock 2.5" MAF unit unlike the ams intake which replaces the unit entirely for a 3" MAF. You'll be fine but I do recommend getting a wideband and boost gauge ASAP if you don't already.
