I really am thankful for your input guys.

Between your advice and talking to Eric (kozmic tuning/ssp Texas) we decided to go with the AMS down pipe to allow the spent exhaust gasses to get out more easily, reducing pressure and heat to the pistons (my idea!) as well as a 3.5 fmic, retune, and extra map. If it still 'knocks' I'll then be convinced its truly phantom. Again, afr's are always 10.8-11.8 at the extremes.

Thanks again!

Well what else am I supposed to do but chase them down? Those mfers be granny shifting, not double clutching like they should. Now me and the mad scientist gotta rip out their engine blocks to replace the o-rings they fried...

It would take an incredibly stupid mistake to bust a stock motor on a stock turbo setup. But if the mistake is stupid enough, even a forged motor would not last long. Be sure you have a good part selection, keep up with maintenance and leak checks and get a good tuner. That will ensure a long and fun relationship with your car.

Lol, why do people still say stuff like this. There is no absolute. You can run as much torque as if safe. End of story. Some can do more, some significantly less. Telling someone 400 is always ok is dumb. It depends entirely on the tune.
