Oooooh, sepia! You're so artistic!
Aw in fairness man there is some good stuff on instagram. It is outweighed by far by all the shit like people photographing their dinner (I FUCKING HATE THOSE PEOPLE!) but you do find the odd gem every now and again
But i do see where your coming from

There are quality pictures on Instagram despite Instagram. I would much rather people learn to take good photos in the first place. I'm as guilty as anyone of setting my 7D to "auto" and chimping my shots. My dad was oldschool and thankfully I learned some photography concepts from him. I'd love to see an app that does things like overlay the golden spiral or tell you that your photo is over / under exposed before you shoot.

OP, I love the creativity you're showing in these shots. This thread reminds me I need to do a shoot once my wheels and trunk arrive.

Both shots were light painted, but on the 1st I used florescent tubes (2 4ft tubes). It's actually composed of about 8-10 photos.

Nice camera, that's what I want to upgrade to. Looking forward to your shots.

Not bad!

Just be careful about highlighting areas too much. For example in the first picture you have very harsh light sources so the light should be sharp and intense around the car... You got it right in the windows etc but when you got to the wheels and the bottom of the car it gets too soft.

Edit: Here's a tutorial I made on dodging and burning, it's on a model but the same principles apply. It might help you out a little...

Wow first one is on point. How do you do that? I've been trying to get it as sharp and crisp as your first pic.
