After discovering the faulty Panasonic battery, the dumbass mechanic apparently installed an incorrect battery. Could this cause any damage to the car?

They have a new battery on order, but it is taking 4 business days to get here. I am fine waiting as much time as necessary due to the 30 day requirement for a lemon law. If additional maintenance is required, I want to make sure I have all my eggs in one basket for legal recourse.

If this is a Charlotte dealer, I'm not surprised at all. Which dealership?

Keffer Select off Statesville Avenue.

Basically the person who sold me the car (JC) told me it was a prior leased vehicle with flawless maintenance history. Me being the impulse buyer that I am made the fatal mistake of not getting that on paper. Turns out there is 0 history on the cars maintenance and that they have no way of even checking if it was financed or leased by the first owner.

I highly recommend staying AWAY from this dealer. I'll remove this post if I ever get favorable service to tip the scale in their favor.

As long as he didn't connect it to the car in reverse polarity, no. The only difference would be physical size (capacity) and electrical capacity. Just like if someone installed a mini battery. No problems.

Now if he installed it reverse polarity, and switched the ignition on, then MANY things *could* have been damaged or fried including the alternator diodes, most electronic components (radio, ECM, assorted computers, etc.).

Other than the alternator, you didn't mention any of those issues iirc.

My Panasonic battery must be one of the few that were good. It's still going strong.2008.

Keffer? You better run while you can! I paid $250 for my oil pan fix out of pocket just to avoid that place.

Yeah everything was hooked up correctly, however the car seemed sluggish (rolling up windows, cranking etc.) since the initial repair.
