That don't add up. GorrillaX had full interior stock seats and that 900whp car is gutted with two lightweight status seats.

Fastest state side stock motor time with a full interior is 11.5 @ 120 on a 6262

On stock head, pump gas only reving to 8k on low boost both those turbos will act similar. So until someone proves other wise its better to quote a realistic time and trap and not just assume something based on dreams and imagination.

He's faster than you. You aren't qualified to tell him if he's succeeded or failed at anything.

Setup is the factor we are missing.

Most X guys keep their heavy ass 18" rims on for drag and keep normal tires on it.

The people that actually put slicks and 17's or smaller rims on do just as well as the evo 8/9 guys.

The platform is perfectly capable of running great times. It's just that until recently people didn't want to make their new/relatively new car into a drag car. Now that the platform is maturing and coming down in cost people are finally starting to do just that.

The X will continue to get faster and it will continue to be easier to do as people can start copying proven setups.

I predict we will see more SST in 10s this year and 9s SST next year.

Evo X platform is so slow, because it makes no sense to do it drag only car when Evo 8/9 is lighter, cheaper and has turbo in front. So most of those who drag this platform still want to use it as DD. But I say - take Chet's weight reduction to absolut, put 9180, thick sleeves, make strong short block, put dogbox, small brakes, radial sliks and Evo X will open 8 second club. It's just a question of money.

SST cars have more parasitic drivetrain loss and thus don't make quite the same amount of power per mod as GSRs do (and are transmission limited before GSRs are, upgrading is more expensive), and also weigh alot more, so we don't run quite as quick of times at the track. The "Evo X stock turbo" record might very well be 11.81, but we SST guys have to settle for 2nd place and race amongst ourselves....for now. lol

Well the stock turbo record could be shattered easily by anyone running a car with a stripped out 3k weight and the typical 350 whp on a Dynojet to be honest.

I'll know soon if I can get anything else out of this 20g, although it seems like it might be pretty tapped out at 117-118 mph range but we'll see.
