Why the fuck do you expect the dealer to do anything about that? In what world do you live in? You have 40 thousand miles on a car that has seen salt and snow.

What exactly do your intend to say to the dealership?

Let's roleplay. I'll be the service manager.

Me: "Greetings, former customer of a car we hate to work on; how may I help you?"

Your turn!

ANTI-CORROSION PERFORATION LIMITED

or original use, whichever occurs first, and extends for 5
years regardless of mileage.
In addition, outer panel rust-through protection coverage is
extended as follows:

I don't garage mine at all, live in the midwest, and I don't have that much rust underneath. Bummer! I'd have to guess that you drove through a puddle of something industrial and nasty. I have over 45,000 miles, but I try to use the F-250 Crewcab 4x4 if the snow is more than 2" deep so I don't get the frozen chunks of snow from other car's wheel wells into my FMIC.

You have no recourse, that is not bad either. i wouldnt be concerned in the slightest.
Agree. If you're worried, really only thing to worry about is future mod/maint, then go find the cheapest WD40 can you can find and hose it down.

That's just the way manufacturers do it. We bought a new Mazda Protege 5 for my wife in 2002. By 2005 there was two quarter sized rust bubbles on the hatch. My 12 year old 1992 Eagle Talon at that same time had no body rust so I was a little pissed that the POS was rusting after ony 3 years. We went to the dealer and they basically said 'come back when there's a hole in it' as that's all that is covered. No more Mazdas for us.

Have you considered a rust module?

I have a new 2010 EVO MR touring, I had a Diamond Kote Rust module installed. I purchased my car in the US but I am originally from Canada. I went to Mitusbishi Canada Dealer and had the rust module installed. Is supposed to prevent any rusting. Will wait and see. The module was $700 installed.

Mine is by a company called diamond kote. They warranty any rust damage and will pay to have it repaired. A number of car dealers now sell them from Bently, Jaguar, Mini, BMW to Mitsubishi, in Canada. This tech has been used for years north of the border. I am new to it, but I will wait and see what happens
