Each rod is shot peened after machining and magnafluxed. Included cap fasteners are 3/8" ARP 2000 for the standard I-Beam, with 3/8" ARP Custom Age 625+ upgraded harware available for even more strength. The Manley 2618 forged pistons are designed to be lightweight yet strong enough to offer a long service life. All Manley pistons include moly coated skirts, round wire locks, premium chrome moly wrist pins, and premium steel top ring sets from Total Seal. We micropolish the crankshaft to provide a superior surface for the high quality tri-metal ACL Race bearings for connecting rods, mains, and thrust. Motion Lab RS21 Spec Pro-Built engine package: The Motion Lab Tuning RS21 engine is designed to satisfy large turbo upgrades for those looking to push the limits of their car as well as increase displacement while still utilizing the OEM forged crankshaft. The RS21 steps up to the robust LA Sleeves made of Moly2000 ductile iron material which has greater density than any other sleeve competitor. Greater material density provides consistent grain flow micro-structure. The LA Sleeves are suitable for bore sizes from 86mm to 90mm. The Motion Lab Tuning RS21 also utilizes the Manley Performance I-beam rods forged from aircraft quality 4340 vacuum degassed material. The superior I-Beam rods are fully machined in the Manley Lakewood New Jersey factory to the highest standards. The signature “Turbo Tuff” design combines the appropriate weight and rugged strength for ultimate horsepower applications. Each rod is shot peened after machining and magnafluxed. Included cap fasteners are 3/8″ ARP 2000 for the standard I-Beam, with 3/8″ ARP Custom Age 625+ upgraded harware available for even more strength. To achieve 2188cc of displacement with the factory crankshaft we utilize the CP 90mm shelf stock pistons. The CP pistons offer deep valve relief depth to accommodate high lift camshaft, accumulator grooves, Double pin oilers, force fed oil ring, and they are fully CNC machined and balanced to +/- 1 gram. To ensure the best performance possible we have a high quality anti-friction skirt coating applied to the traditionally un-coated CP piston set. Your core is thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure it is a good candidate for the rebuild process. To recondition the crankshaft we micropolish the journals to provide a superior surface for the high quality tri-metal King XPG Race bearings used for connecting rods, mains, and thrust. To enhance the strength of the short block assembly overall an ARP main stud kit is installed and machined with a proper line hone to ensure housing bores are consistent. Fully blueprinted and assembled to our strict specifications in a clean climate controlled facility.
