Motion Lab Tuning is your go to spot for high performance engine internals and bolt-on upgrades. Here are a few of our favorite parts that we have available for your X:


HKS “GT EXTENSION KIT” O2 HOUSING AND DOWNPIPE (EVO X): The key to exhaust back pressure control is the design the of HKS CZ200S (CZ4A). Maximization of performance from stock turbine is the goal of the product. The extension portion and front pipe portion are connected with a flexible joint which improves durability. The HKS GT Extension Kit offers new tuning possibilities for the EVO X.

◆ FEATURES
  • Because the stock turbine is small, it has good response at low rpm however at high rpm, due to exhaust resistance, response will be worse. By improving exhaust efficiency, boost pressure will increase earlier at low rpm and power will be increased throughout the complete rpm range.
  • CAD designed and manufactured using lost wax casting. Since lost wax casting does not have welds, there is issue of cracking caused by heat and the smooth surface guides exhaust gas flow smoothly.
  • The turbine outlet has 2 independent ports shaped for the wastegate and turbine side to reduce resistance.
  • For street use, the connection between the extension and front pipe is a flexible joint, like the stock system, to reduce vibration and to improve durability. Even if the lower components of the exhaust are hit, it prevents damage to the engine or turbine.

The ETS EVO X intercooler piping kit is next in line and is a very cool modular package. The upper intercooler piping starts with a smooth mandrel bent 2.5″ stock turbo outlet pipe which connects to the remainder of the hot side piping. The stock turbo outlet pipe is separate to allow it to be swapped out with the installation of our EVO X turbo kit to come so that the remainder of the upper piping can be retained. This ensures that you never have to “upgrade an upgrade” and spend more money on a new upper pipe when it comes time for a turbo kit. Making the connection from the turbo outlet pipe to the intercooler is a single-piece mandrel bent 2.5″ upper intercooler pipe. From the intercooler outlet the 2.5″ mandrel bent piping continues around the core support, with only two gradual radius bends in its entire length, to the lower intercooler pipe bracket before making a straight shot to the throttle body.

ETS 4-ply silicone and 100% SS T-bolt clamps are included for every connection to ensure that blown off intercooler piping stays a thing of the past

The exclusive design improves air flow to the turbocharger, increasing horsepower and performance. We installed the AMS EVO X Performance Intake with an AMS Manual Boost Controller set at the factory 21 psi on our shop car and produced a tremendous 45 awhp over stock!

The AMS EVO X Performance Intake is professionally TIG welded in house by our master fabricators using high quality 3” mandrel bent aluminum. A K&N free flowing filter is included along with new 4 ply silicone couplers and hose clamps. Another exclusive feature is the BOV recirculation tube entry angle, which is completely in-line with the air induction path avoiding turbulence and maintaining excellent air flow. Available polished or black wrinkle coated.

The heart of the ETS stock replacement manifold is the Twin Merge Collectors at the turbine inlet. Unlike the factory unit, where exhaust gasses collide head on into each other, the twin ETS Merge Collectors align the exhaust flow in the direction of the turbine for fast spool and more top end power. Adding to the high flow, the equal length runners make sure all cylinders are tuned the same.

This is the same type of material and build quality we use on our 1100whp Evolution 8 and 800whp Evolution X.

AMS Evo X Widemouth Downpipe: The turbine outlet on the stock EVO X turbo is a cast piece with a rather complex geometry. It hugs the back of the turbo pretty tightly and has a small diameter outlet, necking down to around 2.25” before it enters the actual downpipe. The discharge from the turbo’s internal wastegate is introduced right at the point where the exhaust flow exits the turbine and the entire gas flow is then forced to make a tight turn all in a small area.

This creates a lot of turbulence and if the exhaust gas volume is increased by running other power increasing mods, this juncture is an area where a lot of backpressure will be created. AMS Evo X Widemouth Downpipe: The turbine outlet on the stock EVO X turbo is a cast piece with a rather complex geometry. It hugs the back of the turbo pretty tightly and has a small diameter outlet, necking down to around 2.25” before it enters the actual downpipe. The discharge from the turbo’s internal wastegate is introduced right at the point where the exhaust flow exits the turbine and the entire gas flow is then forced to make a tight turn all in a small area.

This creates a lot of turbulence and if the exhaust gas volume is increased by running other power increasing mods, this juncture is an area where a lot of backpressure will be created.
