Great thanks for the responses! I ended up disconnecting the battery for peace of mind, and tested the relay with the fog lights and it was fine. Also, it seems like people haven't had any problems with the Panasonic relays so ill stick to them *fingers crossed*

Based on my limited understanding, Mitsubishi used the incorrect relay size for the fuel pump. Evo's fuel pump can go through a high-voltage mode and a low-voltage mode everytime you give it gas, which is hundreds, if not thousands, of cycles everyday.

For relays of that size, there are more reliable and less reliable ones. The replacement relays you get at SSP, AMS, Kaizen, or any Evo shops that know what they are doing are the more reliable ones. However, even these relays last only about a year or so. Therefore, it is the best that you change the fuel pump relay periodically.

When the fuel pump relay goes out, the fuel pump will struggle to enter high-voltage mode. The symptoms are usually random and inconsistent, so I personally believe that a wideband AFR is the best long-term solution. When you see it starts randomly running lean, you check the relay (salt-shaker method). If it's bad, change it.
You all care too much. Relax. Let people take personal responsibility and learn themselves. There's a difference between presenting your side and shoving it down someone's throat to make them to listen. Say what you think and let it go. You'll be a happier person if you live that way.

While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.
