Used Cobb AccessPort - How to Reset?? - EvoXForums.com

So I bought a used AP off ebay. I told the guy it had to be unmarried from his car before he sent it to me. Took him an extra 2 weeks to send it but he said he did unmarry it. I got it today and it looks like its still installed on his car since the unit says "current state installed" and the map is "AEM Stage 2..."

What can I do in this situation. The guy is not really responding to my emails. Is there a way to hard reset the unit so I can use it???

thats mested up. it doesn't take but a few button clicks to get the AP un-married to your car. this dude sold his to you, and is still running his map, what a loser.

I think i read that it will cost you 400 bucks for cobb to reset it for you.

To the OP I'd definately give negative feed back soon and look to paypal to claim your money. How much did you end up paying for it?

i paid $405 for it, pretty good deal i know, but this guy better get back to me. if not i think i can go the paypal claim route and try to get my money back

that's what I would do...and I wouldn't be wasting any more time waiting for him either.

Yeah that's not cool, there's always a risk of that happening if you purchase an AP used from someone you don't know. You should file a claim through Ebay.

Sadly you now have an AccessPORT that is useless to you. The only option is to send it to us to have it "relicensed." However, we charge $395 to perform this service unless you have a police report or insurance claim stating that your AccessPORT equipped vehicle is a complete loss or stolen along with your proof of purchase. I would try to place a claim with Ebay or Paypal/ credit card company if that is an option to get your money back.
