Possible causes for running on 3 cylinders?

Well I've been on a road trip from hell for the last 2 days.... First I had a no start issue which was resolved after finding out the positive battery post was a little loose (everything else would still work except the starter)...

Anyways, after resolving that issue we hit the road again and 500 km later my car begins firing on 3 cylinders. I got a CEL etc haven't checked the code but I know what it sounds like when it hapens as I've heard it before.

I got roadside assistance to take my car to the closest dealership but I'm pretty much screwed here because of all my modifications. Since I'm going to be more than likely paying for all the troubleshooting and repairs I'd like to figure out exactly what I should have looked at right from the start.

I'm thinking I might get them to throw in some oem injectors then just adjust the injector scaling on my tune for oem injectors? Blah I'm over 1200km from home right now, I feel like puking the more I think about this.

Check for bad injector, spark plug, or coil pack. Also check compression on all 4.

Shitty deal, sorry to hear.

I'm guessing your scaling was probably fine, but I'm willing to bet it was one of those DW800s. Still, take a quick look for anything obvious at the coils and spark plugs, as Clipse mentioned.

It really sucks that you're so far away.

I wouldn't cry wolf... about the DW800. This will just spread rumors etc... Yes, there have been a few cases of bad injectors. However, we do not know what is the case with the OP's car.

Valid point, I'm not trying to indicate that the DW800s are all bad.

My reasoning is simply because I've met weebles. He's been tuned very well and he's a smart guy who has had good installs. While that doesn't rule out coils, etc., it makes me think about which of those components was most likely to fail.

It's just a theory, in fact it's more of just a guess. I'd be hard pressed to find the problem if the car was in front of me If the OEM injector swap fixes the problem, I'm just as happy as if any other problem was fixed.

Keep us updated weebles.

Dealership says that injector #4 isn't pulsating.

They don't have OEM injectors in stock and it will take 1 week to get them in so I can't even test the swap. I'm pretty much stuck in a city I don't want to be in and not sure what to do here...

I'm gonna try call DW and see how fast I can get replacements sent up. If I can get them before friday I'll be okay but further than that and I'm absolutely screwed.
