I think my tuner is one of the best out there and he's making me wait on the Dodson clutch packs, I'm not a hater, nor am I a tech, but I've been told to wait on Dodson rather than go with the SSP's. I wish they would hurry up and ship something, it's been "next month" for three months on those things.

ok, I'll ask what specifically turns him off on SSP. I know he has a ton of track time with their GTR clutchpacks and says performance and reliability with Dodson is unparalleled. His shop has a habit of not letting price be much of an issue.

What's the.. HA.. left hanging out there, man up. The shop has a good reputation as far as I know. I've spent a lot of money there and will trust my people until they prove otherwise, which may be soon to never. I've taken into account the fact that I've only read positive feedback on this forum about SSP products and I even made a point not to make too much about being steered towards Dodson, I don't care for haters myself. I believe product and manufacturer opinions are formed due to a number of responses, not all valid quality and engineering issues. Preferred pricing squabbles and petty old personality conflicts between shop and vendor probably drive a lot of hating. You can let me know if you think I'm being mislead. Like I said, I'll post the specifics as to the nature of the bias for Dodson over SSP as soon as I get those particulars.

The bias for Dodson probably stems from their excellent performance in the GT-R world.

The dodson bias is b/c they've performed amazing in the GT-Rs, whereas SSP clutches have been tried many times, and they've always been crappy. Only SSP themselves seem to have SSP clutches running well in a gtr. Check out NAGTROC and search for SSP. You'll find many threads discussing this.

And if you look enough on this forum, you'll see many many of us despise SSP products for their crap quality. Read about their CMC products. 3 redesigns, and they still fail at an almost 100% rate. Then SSP blames installer error....

If I had an MR and wanted/needed clutches, I'd wait for dodson, and I'd pay whatever the hell they wanted
