Well let us know if your breath smells like fresh fruit or paint thinner lol. According to some you are actually supposed to be able to maintain "most" of your muscle in this specific "diet". Supposed to derive energy from stored fats instead of using proteins from skeletal muscle. It's controversial though, just like most things on planet earth.

I was cutting weight for a fight about 2 years ago and I went from 165 to 143 in 10 days. Yeah, felt like poop. But I dropped 22lbs in 10 days. Stayed under 1500 calories per day and did some light exercise since I didn't have energy to do too much. I could definitely tell I lost some muscle and strength since it was such a quick/drastic cut. Lost the fight due to 0 energy/strength/endurance. Wouldn't do it again for that reason. I gained about 10lbs back within a week, then the other 10 came on slowly trying to add muscle, rather than 10 more pounds of fat and water.

...or you can enter ketosis by following the KETO diet...

a ketotic diet will def maintain muscle. but water fast will not. ketotic diets include enough protein to maintain muscle and as a bonus most proteins have fat which keeps your caloric intake up at a decent level. but the body fat falls off being used for energy.

I've been doing a cut the right way for about a month, and I have knocked off a successful 4-5lbs.

Just watch what I eat mainly, make sure my calories are right. Intake a lot of protein, the right amount of fat, and carbs, and I lift, and do 20 minutes of cardio after lifting. I have lost no muscle, I am lifting the same or more.

My goal is to drop another 15lbs by summer time.

good work, and a nice realistic attainable goal. that wont be an issue if you keep it up. ketosis diets are an extreme and shouldnt be used a) for a long time or b) frequently.

Understood. Similar to a low carb/no carb diet basically. Allowing protein intake.

I'd like to get down to about 10-12% BF. Right now I would guess I'm between 15-18%.

So based on rough calculations I would need to lose about 15-18lbs to get to my goal.

I'll be happy with 15 lbs by June.

I'm taking it slow because my goal is not to lose any muscle.

What other supplements are good would you recommend? I'm only taking whey protein right now.
