I coach wrestling which gives me access to all of the fitness stuff at my school. I lift with my team and run a speed/strength program from March to November, training all athletes. I'm 5'7" and usually run 165-170lbs. I bench 180 max, but I used to bench 210 in college. I'm not big on free weights as I get stocky really easily and I like staying slim and toned rather than big and muscular. I run four-five times a week, play 1-2 hockey games on top of that, and step onto the mat during wrestling season to help train my mid-weight guys (138-185lbs).

My goals are to just stay in shape. I'm not the biggest fitness guy out there, my diet is primarily grilled and baked stuff, little friend foods. For a teacher, generally lazy people where I'm at, I'm in top shape. But, coaching really helps with that. Once I become an administrator I'll need to get on a fitness plan.

Also, during my off time I like to hike and swim and rock climb. I'm really outdoorsy.

My birthfather was 6'4" and like 250lbs, and my birthmother was 5'10" and was a bit bigger, too. I'm really concerned with staying in decent shape because I figure my genes lend me toward heavier weight. I do have cholesterol problems, too, which is hereditary.

Oh, and I'm 24. 25 in May.

Eyler for your goals climbing will be perfect! I climbed for years until a really bad accident. But as far as staying lean and core strength it doesn't get any better. Plus the mental aspect of working a problem is half the fun.

Cholesterol is an issue if you have arterial inflammation which comes from too many omega 6 fatty acids in your diet.

I prefer dumbbells for bench, too. Barbell seems like a dick measuring tool and I just hate the way it feels.

I mostly use dumbbells as well. They are way more adaptable to the exercises than the barbell...and don't necessarily require a spotter.

P90X or any of those "Insane" workouts will tone/thin quickly.

I work dumbbells in my routines also, your working more muscle due to balance. Im trying to get up to the 140 lb dumbbells thats the biggest we have as of now i use 125s for reps of ten on flat press and 90s for shoulder press. Anyone taking vitamin supps or fish oils? Fish oils are the best but i hate the fish burps after they dissolve lol but its a small price to pay for all it offers.

I got some buddies that used to be body builders. I think I'm going to go lift with them once a week and go throw some tires over houses and push buses up hills. That shit will hopefully make me gain some weight.

FYI, cholesterol does not matter. Omega 6 FA's do.

Anyone have good tips on losing the lower belly fat? I know its the most stubborn to get rid of but im looking for good work outs for it. I think im doing ok and it will probably be gone by the time I get back, but any input is better than nothing.
