Garret gtx3076r turbo housing kit???
So I have a friend who can get it for me for cheap and was told all I need was 2k injectors and bigger FMIC, now most ppl to me to go the FP route but I don't wanna be like everyone else, if boost was turned down would the garret be fine on a stock block??? I already have Exaust, intake, testpipe, AP, coilovers and what not but I don't was a blow car but I'm getting mix comments on the garret turbo being good but blowing a stock block sooooo I need opinions!!

Are you planning on 2000 cc/min injectors on pump gas, or E85?
But, in short, with a good conservative tune you'll be fine.

1. you do not need 2k injectors for pump go smaller to help drivability...
2.go with a fp everyone goes with them for a reason 3. any turbo on stock block can be done its all in the tuning

Well every time you change wheel sizes larger on a turbo, "some" lag is increased, although changes on the hot side are usually more noticeable. Typically the larger compressor sizes in relation to the exhaust wheel will hurt spool less for more flow and better boost holding up top. Get too big and you will hit the surge line too easily at WOT and lower RPM's in taller gears like 5th/6th. Basically that happens when at lower RPM's the engine can't consume all the airflow of the larger compressor wheel and the hot side being smaller than it could be has higher exhaust backpressure restricting flow but helping spool. Definitely turbo design and balance between the wheels is important and some of it can be accounted for in the tune through MIVEC and other tools.
As for injectors, 2000cc are crazy big if you are never going to use E85. A good set of 1000cc injectors will support 750 crank horsepower or around 625 whp on a dynojet which will be far more than the GT/GTX30/FP Red sized turbo setup will ever need. I definitely agree that making a larger turbo work on a stock block is all about the tuning. Larger turbos get a bad rep when the tuner gets greedy and raises boost to increase torque as the turbo gets into full swing. If you keep the peak torque in check with slightly reduced boost and/or timing with a proper fuel supply and smooth torque curve you really should be fine. Areas to stay conservative are avoiding high boost/lean AFR's at boost threshold in 5th/6th gears, avoid bouncing the car off the limiter at full boost, use a 3 port solenoid to set a reasonable boost level that will be supported by your fuel system.
