boob here: Hello Everyone!
Hello guys, my name is Lee and
I've just purchased an 08 EVO X gsr G.G. with all the options except Navi. Coming from 08 350Z. I always wanted a TURBO!! ![]() I have a friend who is a salesman at a Nissan dealership that just took an EVO for a trade from a 50 year old guy who upgraded to brand spanking new GTR. So the car is 100% stock never been tuned or messed with Anyways, I am new to the EVO and also new to a turbo... So I have few quesions about the car My Evo have 32,000 miles and and it is in really good condition inside and out. thankfully... (knock on wood) So the very first thing I've done to the car as soon as i got it to home was an oil change with mobil 1 Extended Performance and visually checked all the stuffs under and in the engine bay of the car and everything seems ok. But the thing I have questions is that I dont know if the previous owner did the 30K service. What is usually done on 30K services and what should I do as far as changing fluids? I am planning to do everything myself. and right now I've spent all my savings toward buying the car so i really dont want to take it to the dealership and pay hundreds of dollars.... Is there any special tips on what to watch out for and what to do? I really need your help Evo experts! Thank you in advance guys!!! |

Just in case it hasn't been done I would do a fluid flush of your transmission, differentials and coolant. Do the filters in the intake and cabin. Can't remember if the drive belts are on the list but I would change it - need a serpentine tool if you do our own labor.
I found the front differential fluid a pain to change but the transfer case isn't bad. Search for the "Redline Cocktail" and use that to refill your transmission fluid. Did mine at 3000 miles and made a huge difference in the shift notchiness that is common for the Evo X. Congrats dude! Good luck. Last edited by austin; 09-24-2012 at 07:57 AM. |
