Polished the exhaust

Used Eagle One Never Dull, Multi-surface windex, tons of shop towels, and a microfiber rag for the final polish.

The steps below are extremely easy and the entire job only took me an hour. I'm going to give it another go around with the Never Dull to see if I can get the remaining grime off.

First - I soaked the entire exhaust in windex, then scrubbed the entire exhaust clean with shop towels.

Second - I scrubbed the exhaust as hard as possible with Never Dull, three times.

Third - I wiped the surface residue off in a polishing motion with shop towels.

Fourth - I sprayed the exhaust with a light coat of windex and polished the absolute shit out of the exhaust with the microfiber rag.

steel wool works great to get the pits out as well.

Overall the exhaust is a lot shinier (pictures don't pick that up all that well), but I am definitely going to give it another go around with something a bit stronger. I want to try and improve the finish of the middle canister. It seems as though the previous owner never detailed the car judging by the condition of the exhaust and some brake residue on the front wheels.

good thing you killed 99.9 % of the bacteria off that exhaust.

looks good tho. I can see the shine bit better but i'm sure the pic's are not doing you justice here.

If you want it to look new again, you're gonna have to either get rid of the blue tips or re-do the blue tips after getting rid of them.

400 grit sand paper -> 600 -> 1000 -> 1500 -> 2000 -> 2500 -> 0000 steel wool -> polishing compound -> polishing compound -> polishing compound

That AMS single exit exhaust was literally made in 2008 and was on a well-known shop's time attack car for a bit, then on my car for a bit longer, and I just re-polished it up a month ago. I didn't go into super detail, I just did 400 grit, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 0000 steel wool, polish, polish. If I would've done the extra steps of 2500 grit and another round of polishing it would've been gorgeous, but more time consuming.

I wish I had a before pic, but the fart can was like gold and brown from heat and oxidization. I basically had to lightly sand to a new layer of metal to get rid of a lot of pitting and uneven gold discoloration from heat.

Lastly, I'd strongly recommend the sanding route on the big ol' canister you got to get rid of all that discoloration.
