Dealership TC-SST rip off

Well....I knew they are gonna be expensive as I was doing research earlier this week.

Winter is coming, gonna be switching to winters soon....thought might as well get the tranny fluid changed while I have it in the shop for TPMS relearn

Phoned West Side Mitsubishi today, was quoted $46x for 2 cans of 4L fluid and $25x for the filter, that's before any labor !!

I was like WTF?!~

I already ordered the filter from SSP couple days ago, shipped here turned out to be $87. Haven't got it yet, but it suppose to be OEM quailty. And I can't see the Mitsubishi filter being 3 times as good for 3 times the money.

Right after I got off the phone with Mitsubishi, I phoned VW for their DSG stuff. I was quoted $44 per 1 L bottle.

So that's what I am gonna go with, VW/Audi fluid with SSP filter

Just wanted to vent....

Be thankful you can buy the cheaper fluid as us across the border are not able to.

I just called Platinum Mitsu here in Calgary and asked how much 48000 service was.
$1400!!!!!
Decided to change fluids myself!
Thanks for the tip regarding DSG tranny fluid. I will go with it too.

nothing reported so far...and if you look into the SSP fluid and Castrol fluid, apparently it suits all "double clutch" transmission, Mitsubishi, Nissan, VW/Audi, Bmw...meaning basically, all "double clutch" transmission is about the same and uses the same fluid

Ive been running audi's FFL2 for almost 20,000km now with no issues. Steel has been for around the same time and his Evo sees alot of track time compared to mine. He hasnt reported any issues either.

One day i will finally get around to buying some more SSTF from mitsu so i can finally complete the fluid anaylsis. So far I have lab sample's on the FFL2 and Willall but my SSTF oil sample was too small so need to buy more to complete comparo. the Mitsu stuff is just so damn expensive and needs to be purchased in 4L jugs. Atleast FFL2 can be bought in L bottles.
