Ways to delete AYC
What are the different ways to drop the AYC?
I know you can swap an evo 9 diff in, but what are the other ways? I would like to lose that extra weight.

okay im just thinking out loud here, but wouldnt you loose the limited slip like that? As i understand it the cpu through the ayc pump hydrauliclly controls the locking of the diffs, where as the evo 9 is mechanical. does the pump run only to rear diff? I cant remember.

Also, get Robevo in here. He's got a IX diff in his car and he's probably blown the most diffs out of anyone.

Cusco 1.5way I think is the way to go. There is a AYC version and a non AYC version. Then you loose the AYC but get the limited slip action you require. However does the AYC pump not actuate the center diff as well? (AYC and ACD pump is the same)
I would look into other ways of loosing weight though, check out Chets thread |

First proper question, why? And dont say weight reduction as there are plenty of other areas to lose weight before tossing the AYC rear.
Get yourself some Carbon doors, you'll be in weight watchers territory by then.
