Oh yeah all day. I was all geared up for it. Still am. Now more than ever. All the carbon pods in that thread were done by me. I prefer to do bulk piecework for other companies (mostly Honda and BMW stuff). I get a bulk shipment, carbon it to spec, email the vendor, they send ups and drop ship to customers. I get my payment. Rinse, repeat. I start about one interior a month. Carbon is funner to me, like I enjoy the craft, but working with plastics is simpler in comparison. Fabbing a pillar up is very simple compared to carbon work. I should just make a whole batch up front and sell them that way. The material cost to make a triple pod is only about 50 bucks, including the pillar itself. Who do you think came up with the method of molding a glowshift universal onto a pillar? Me
![]() Others have tried to duplicate the method...but takes a lot of skill to actually make it right. And some nastt chemicals. But all the mistakes you see of fading paint, cracks, peeling, is all defects during manufacturing. It doesn't have to happen. Plastic work is tedious and theres a reason no one does it. Kinda like the VCR repair of auto body work. It sucks.
