I usually try to park near medians or islands in parking lots if possible, that way it eliminates the potential threat of some ******* dinging me.

Zero dings to date( know on wood)

Even worse than horrible parkers, and people who don't pay attention when they open their car door, are the jacka$$es that try to peek into your car....scratching the sides with buttons/zippers, and leave handprints all over my windows!

That piece of plastic wont protect you from people with curved doors and those with smaller/lower cars. Putting that plastic there will just tempt people to hit your car more or even test it out. Especially for fat people, they just don't care. They'll swing their doors wide open.

Man this pisses me off. Even when they Arnt fat they still have no respect. Everyone just swings the doors open like they didn't know they were in a parking lot. Cool thing to do is just stare at them when they park next to you in a vehicle. This ends in them getting out carefully or finding another space.

the two "bumpers" are connected with a "security tether" and there's a an extra one that goes into your car and you close the door. There's a ball at the end so people can't just run away with them. I think at best it deters them from doing this.

And you can place them wherever you want, Dino noticed why I placed them in the photo because I imagined/calculated where the truck door would hit if opened.

I have never thought about if they could scratch my car. I think that can be avoided if you make sure you life them straight off, not drag the magnetic bumper across your dirty paint.

I didn't make them. My roommate got them and gave them to me because he's parked in a spot with handicap cushions now. We used to have this crackhead neighbor that would just smash her door into our cars. I definitely recommend if you live in an apt complex. I googled door defender and the website is www.doordefender.com. I didn't want to act like I'm advertising it or anything. Just love protecting my car lol.

3 (all) dings I have received are exactly where the OP placed the magnets. But around here somebody would remove those magnets and then scratch your car with them or something. Rich kids get bored.

what if impact point is different from placement, or even worse, what if somebody likes them so much that they just take them?
