You're forgetting fluids and maintenance and the risks that are associated with even bolt-ons and a tune. You're already in what is essentially a "brand-new" car, just ride it out through college and reevaluate your priorities. Who's to say you'll have a job right out of college? I can tell you, from experience, that even an intake can void the warranty, as it did to me during my senior year of college and resulted in me having to fork over a lot of my money for a t-case.

I don't know your full financial situation, but I can tell you that owning this car while in college is a mistake unless you're funded by your parents. I lived off of $250 a month during most of college, at one of the most expensive public universities in the nation. I was lucky that the summer before my senior year was a profitable one and that I got a deal on the X, otherwise I wouldn't be driving it right now.

It's not just the payments or the breakdowns, the X is deceptively expensive when it comes to insure, fuel and maintenance, which as long as you have the car you'll be paying for.

I could see how Eyler's advice is sound.

Edit:
I now see his response and +1 it.

Eyler: I feel ya, I went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ. $1092/credit hour. In 4years + 1 extra semester because I had to retake engineering physics a few times ended up costing over $100k. Makes me wish I would of just invested in a home in '99 and then sold it in 05' when the market was stupid. Would of paid for school.....but instead I had to be addicted to cars and go through a half-dozen.

The *best* decision for a vehicle I made, was actually the month after I graduated and was job hunting. I bought a 05' Scion tC for 16k. Payments were cheap, insurance was cheap, maintenance was non-existent, and just like all the other camry engines I *never* had a single issue in 64k miles of owning it....unlike the Ford Escort Turbo, bagged S10, lifted 5.9L Ram (with 4.88 gears), and built 1835cc 69' VW Bug that I threw all my money into that often failed to get me to class and work on time

Well then, pay to play and play hard because it's the way this car likes to have fun!

Keep the Z. I would NEVER own an AWD car in a climate like that.

Hell, I would have a bad ass RWD car. Trade in for a CTS-V or something like that.
