On what city did you get the ticket?

Inspection will get wave off, just bring proof that you have got it inspected, i did that and the judge dismissed no charges... Front plate cant be dismissed too... seat belt idk maybe yes if ur first time. Just bring proof of everything. They take a month or more to give you the citation.

Fight any ticket! I dont think you want point on your driving record cuz your car insurance will go up with thosr points for years. $50-200 could be the damage to your payment every month.

Word. I have a lawyer that I've used to fight my two past tickets, one of which was total nonsense not only was I not speeding, but my radar detector didn't make a peep. He assumed I was speeding because of my exhaust and mainly because I was in an Evo. Thats the main issue, I was in the Evo. The odds are that a higher % of Evo owners are up to no good than other more mainstream types of cars. The population of owners are younger it makes sense. Its the same reason most cops pull you over for a missing headlight...not because they care, but because it gives them an excuse to pull you over. The Evo is excuse enough. And even when they were dismissed, I still had to pay court costs. Nonsense.
Interestingly, I drive much faster on the street in my Sienna minvan and Nissan Armada than I ever did in my Evo, because I know the Evo was a target. And I have zero tickets since retiring the Evo from the street....

I might actually fight this now. Everything I'm reading says that this guy pulled me over for 'Probable Cause' with the seatbelt violation. If he doesn't tell me of an equipment violation, etc. I have a case against him. IE: If he pulled me over for an exhaust, he probably should have told me so I could avoid future traffic stops.

YOU fighting this will most likely not work. You can throw logic and accountability out the window. The judge just doesn't care or have sympathy. They will ALWAYS side with the cop. Always. Unless you hire a lawyer. Its all bullshit.

These are such little tickets, they're not an issue at all. Just plead not guilty, and pay a parking ticket.

Not sure how it works in your state, but I've gotten a handful of tickets, two of which were speeding, etc. Plead not guilty, go in talk with the prosecutor and they give you a parking ticket, and no points on the license.

Technically my record is squeaky clean. No points, no insurance hike, my record is clean.

Even my buddy who got caught going 118mph on his bike didn't get any points and pleaded not guilty, he just walked away with a $300 fine, and driving school.

Maybe I need to move to NY. It certainly is not as easy as you describe in the illustrious state of Illinois. I despise this state and would like nothing more than to leave.

Fight it. Save your money on a lawyer though. Just by proving that your other citations are so petty, they might even toss the seat belt ticket out with it. You arent fighting the cop that wrote it, you're fighting the judge who only see's whats on paper. I've had numerous charges against me at once. The judge will pick whats important and whats not and toss those out on his own. You dont know how happy I was when I heard only a quarter of the charges stuck against me in court, lol. I was like, thats it?!?

Like I said before, when you fight it, the clerk at the court makes a court date to see the judge. The cop that wrote it will be summoned to show for that court date. If its on a day that he works, he'll be too busy to show up. If its on his day off, why the hell would he want to waste his day off?
Unless you really pissed him off or he's got some vendetta against Evo's he wont show and the charges will be dropped. Specially if he knows he was just f*ing with you in the first place.
Thats how the system works/worked in Texas. Hopefully its the same for you.

Ah ha! See.

Those that went the lawyer route paid for it. Those that didnt, got off.

ROLL THE DICE!!!

And never plead Not Guilty unless you have to. Always choose Nolo Contendere or "No Contest". That gets you off with a slap on the wrist in most cases.
