Having second thoughts

As I'm reading more and more about the GSR, I'm starting to have cold feet...I went in knowing maintenance and replacements were gonna cost a lot, just not as frequent. Reading about peoples clutches going out at less than 5k or transmissions having problems, had me thinking about cost.
A person like myself who's going to LEARN how to drive manual in a Evo, is worried about doing major internal damage...Give me some reinsurance guys....

I found one that's $1500 below invoice, 2013 in Wicked White. Going in tomorrow to test drive it.

Spend that $1500 you're saving and buy a beater Honda. Destroy that transmission/clutch and then you should be set to move on to the Evo.

I just hit 10k miles and my clutch still feels just fine - no transmission problems. I've also been driving a manual for years, though. It all depends on how you drive.

Honestly, I would learn to drive a manual before even sitting in a GSR. If you want to learn to drive a manual, see if you can find a friend with a manual transmission car to teach you first. The Evo is not a good car to learn on. If you just want an Evo but not the hassle just get it with the tc-sst.

That's the best advice I can give you.

Buy an MR for another brand of car with some flavor of automatic. Scooter is right. this is not the car for you

And how exactly are you going to "test drive it"? I'm sure that will be outstanding. If you wouldn't mind, can you record what happens and post it?

I learned to drive stick by "test driving" cars, lol. Just make sure you burn out the clutch on one you wont buy!

Dude, you're driving an AWD drive car. If you drop the clutch on a FWD or RWD car all you'll do is spin the wheels. Drop the clutch in an Evo, your tranny wont last long at all.

Lol. I'm sure the salesman will go with him on the test drive though and if he's a good salesman he will stop him before he leaves the lot.

I basically Learned How To Drive A Stick In My Evo. I Never Own A Sports Car Or TurboCar Before. I Only driven A Clutch About 5/6 Times Over About 3 Years Before I Got My Evo. I Have 34K On My Car Yeah I Drive Way To Much Still On My stock Clutch & I Launched My Car A Few Times. You Shouldn't Have Any Problems Just Don't Drive It Like You Stole.Oh Yeah I Don't baby My Car Yeah The 1St Month Or 2 I Didn't But I Was Still Learning Lil Things About Driving A Stick.
